Jeep LJ Body and Motor Mount Lift Install

Installing a 1" body lift from Daystar and a 1" motor mount lift from Brown Dog Offroad on my Jeep Wrangler TJ Unlimited aka LJ. These are needed for the belly up skid plate I will be installing.

In your experience which’s mounts are better, dog brown or more for less vibrations and confort i want to do the belly up to my LJ but I haven’t decided which mounts to get, great video

I actually think the YJ has less vibrations with the MORE mounts.

Common issue on LJs and later model TJs. I talk about it more in the next video but Chrysler PCMs from that era are junk and fail easy.

No more lift needed, just bump stops and 35s. SYE wouldn't even be needed with the LJ wheelbase. But I like what your doing. Love the LJ.

Okay.... I feel like i should know this but ... is there any reason other than the belly up skid plate? You mention doing engine mounts on your YJ, but did you do that for a skid plate too? Is it just a matter of trying to keep things (like the oil pan) out of harm's way? And does the motor lift result in any other needed adjustments? Like my suspension lift resulted in itbeing necessary to loosen my tranny and slide it like a quarter inch forward to clear second, fourth , and reverse. Thanks in advance and keep the videos coming! There are a few benefits, some are more important than others. If you raise the motor at the same time you do the body lift you can keep your fan shroud in the same place and not worry about moving or modifying it. Engine is raised a little and gives you more clearance underneath. Rear output on transfer case is tilted down a little and helps with rear driveshaft angles (unless you do a belly up). But for me the most important reason I installed it is because it is a requirement for my belly up. There are no other adjustments needed especially when done at the same time as the body lift, it is only 1" but helps line everything back up. Thanks!

hey too late now considering you already did all that work but would highly recommend you upgrade the motor mount plates with the ones from browndog, stinkyfab, ironman4x4, or whoever else makes them. the stock ones are known to break and take out parts of the engine block with them

You will most likely regret the body lift and the engine mounts. Dont be surprised if you have vibes with the mounts and the body lift should always be aluminum as it doesnt compress.

Well this was recorded over three months ago and I have been driving the Jeep with no issues. Not to mention this is the second Jeep I have done this with, that one being several years ago and have no issues. No regrets and I'm glad I didn't keep my worn out bushings with an aluminum spacer on top.
