I wish Fuji would focus on production/availability of fewer models and focus on creating a good/functional control/transfer app for android and iOS. A lot of these models seem to be serving the same customer base.

As Fujifilm grows, I think they are definitely experimenting more. However, it’s clear that cameras like the X100VI that sticks closely to their original formula works better than trying to follow trends or the competition. Thanks for your thoughts.

Their apps are so bad. Between ridiculous permissions, persistent location access and nearby scanning, and constantly running in the background sucking massive amounts of battery, they're just awful. It's less painful to just plug in a USB-C cable and transfer photos directly to my phone or PC, if not the SD/CF card.

Alot of the less expensive Fujifilm cameras have a 26mp sensor and lack IBIS, So having the 40mp sensor and IBIS Makes the camera worth the price, now the XT5 is about three hundred dollars roughly more than a XT50 but it's price was more at the time of release, in time the XT50 will come down as most camera bodies do. When the first OM SYSTEM OM1 came out, this is the one that still has Olympus on the camera the price was just over 2000 dollars, today you can pick one up for 1100 dollars body only from the manufacturer web site, not sure how long this will be as the price has been reduced for several months.

The lack of PASM mode is a plus to me because: a) beginners are coming from smartphones, not from PASM cameras, b) Fujifilm had entry level cameras with PASM mode and they weren't that popular. I am not a pro but so far I only use Aperture priority (by day), shutter priority (by night) or full manual mode (with my untamed Sigma DP2) I guess a beginner that don't want to learn will use just everything in automatic and will need only a film dial. The truth is that it seems a genius move.

@Pixelpeeps-69Ай бұрын
@@bigheadtaco yes the evf is a lot smaller than what I’m used to and the xt50 is just too small to use ergonomically especially with any lenses bigger than the Fuji crons , my fingers don’t fit around the camera especially when using the bigger f1.4 lenses with the grip fitted ! I only bought this camera as an edc for hiding this in my big jacket pockets so my wife doesn’t see it on me as she moans that I spend more time taking photos instead of talking to her 😂

You mention somewhere a sensor between 24 and 40 megapixels, 32MP. Canon’s R7 has a 32MP APSC sensor which is very good. Unfortunately Canon doesn’t take their APS-C lineup seriously, and I wish the R7 had the ergonomics of the full frame R6 mk.II instead of its oddball layout.

most brands have left the APS-C realm to Fujifilm, including Sony who actually makes the sensor for Fujifilm.

I have both cameras, the X-T5 and the X-T50 and I am seriously thinking about selling my X-T5 because the build quality of the smaller X-T50 is a better. My first impression when I once got the X-T5 was, that the build quality of the X-T3 was better than the X-T5. For example, the LCD on the X-T5 does not fit snugly against the body. When you tap the display with your finger, it rattles. There were some KZbinrs who also pointed this out in their reviews. It was a bit disappointing then. To be honest, I don't need the pro features of an X-T5. If I need these features I take my Nikon Z8. The Fuji are just for fun, when I need a light-weight inconspicuous camera. And the X-T50 sure does the job as well.
@henrytong8707Ай бұрын
They can easily turn this into an X-E5 by simply removing the film dial and moving the EVF to the left turning it into a rangefinder style.
@johnnydee7480Ай бұрын
I love my X-T50! It's my dream camera. It's a great travel camera, and you can do so much with it. I also love its size-it's a small camera that packs a punch. I hate big, clunky cameras. I cringe when I see people on vacation with their enormous full-frame cameras. It's over kill.

Depending on the size of your pants to be honest, but I would say no. It’s small but not that small. With a pancake lens like the 27mm f/2.8 you can put into a big jacket pocket.

Is it the film sim dial that broke your heart? For me it confused me more than anything. I want to see an X-T50 II like they did with the X-T30 II, and just make that left dial blank. Problem fixed.
@thomashill5768Ай бұрын
@@bigheadtaco Mostly yes. I just couldn't imagine paying that much for a camera and then having to look at that redundant dial every time I picked it up. It's an extremely clumsy solution to a problem that never existed. Replacing a useful dial with a useless dial is a double whammy of functionality loss. All they had to do was stick all the new bells and whistles in an xt20 and it would've been the camera of the year (the missing d-pad is also a huge step backwards). I know the answer is to just get the xt5 but that misses the point of Fuji shooters who love the small, powerful pocket rocket. I do worry a little about the direction Fuji is moving in.

@@bigheadtaco I don't understand people who fail to grasp the concept of a Unique Selling Point. Fuji users gush about film simulations and then when Fuji put that USP on their camera, there are complaints. I'd bet that dial has sold a LOT of X-T50's to *NEW* users to the brand, which is a good thing. You don't bury your USP in a menu.

Fuji sticking a dedicated film sim dial on their new cameras is so... just, no. It makes them feel and handle like toys. All the people raving about film sims had no issue accessing them on older bodies like the X100T, and half of the fun is creating/using custom "recipes" for which the dedicated dial serves no purpose. Fuji misread the hype and pivoted in a completely wrong direction. I'm not holding my breath for the X-Pro4...

Well, nothing in this world comes for free. With such a tiny pixel, a very short shutter speed is needed. In photos with high magnification, even at short focal lengths of this lens, micro-blur is clearly visible. So with longer focal lengths and lower lighting, it is unlikely that you will be able to take clear photos with this camera handheld 😪 In my opinion, the optimal resolution for aps-c matrices is 26 - 28 MP.
