I learned to reload making 300 blackout because the cost was crazy at the beginning. The mouth wall thickness was the biggest learning curve for my 8.6 reloading journey

A company called Armanov makes drop-in ammo checkers for 300 BLK and others that will let you know if you're good to go. Bad cases that may chamber in LE Wilson use gauges (and others) will not chamber in these. Not crazy expensive, though if you live in the US, shipping is pricey because they ship from Slovenia, where they are made. But they ship quickly. Gavin from the Ultimate Reloader YT channel did a vid on them. I have one; it works great.

Yup me too. Had a little problem with shoulders but neck thickness was the whole deal.

3:11 And perhaps more importantly, if they DO happen to chamber, the overly-expanded case neck can get pinched between the bullet and the chamber wall if there is not adequate clearance. This may create excessive pressure upon firing, resulting in a potentially deadly BOOM-BOOM! and a really bad day for both rifle and shooter. That said, what neck turner equipment are you using for these 8.6 BLK rounds? Thanks. Also, just a note that, unfortunately, SAAMI spec'ing a cartridge doesn't necessarily mean that manufacturers will soon begin producing cases. Look at 6 ARC. Starline only (relatively) recently began producing it after it had been SAAMI approved for more than 2 years. And today, 3 years after approval, not many brass manufacturers have come on board with it even though demand is relatively high. SAAMI approval is a step in the right direction, but demand and longevity expectations are what really drive new manufacturers into the market.

I would agree with the timeliness but I’ll say that 8.6 barrel sales are greater than 6arc from what I hear.

@@EagleRun23 I hope so. You seem to be the only one on YT really doing vids on it. Also, right now Faxon seems to be the only "mainstream" barrel maker with offerings in this chamber, so I'm surprised to hear that. But it's an interesting cartridge, for sure.
