Into the fog of war, for the only required time in the story. It’s a good thing online map guides exist, otherwise blindly warping someone in a fog-of-war map would likely be a death sentence. 14:43 Yeesh, that’s a rough status to get hit by. Mareeta definitely seems like she won the lottery on everything that’s not base stats, Luna + Astra + Adept is crazy. 29:42 Dismounted Finn looks like Marth. If a Thracia remake happens, I wonder if having a short prologue like in FE12 might be a good idea. 45:33 She’d be pulling a Vaike if she did that. Salem looks like Kakyoin from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and I think that’s neat. I wish player-usable dark magic was more interesting in this game, but oh well, he still seems cool.

At least on turn 1 you can reset without much consequence. 14:43 Thankfully Leif is immune or maps would be unwinnable. (I THINK he's immune?) 29:42 Actually yeah. A prologue about the fall of Leonster would be cool, though Leif would be 2 years old then so you'd have to use Finn I guess. Oh wow he DOES look like Kakyoin now that you mention it.

LOL @ the sound effects in Salem’s bio. I’m a big SF fan, so I love whenever you do the “Sword-Ryuken!” bit haha. When I first did this map I screwed up and got the fog of war lifted, so I had to start over. It’s kind of embarrassing that it took me 20 turns + but oh well lol. It was my first time playing this game. You live and learn. 😭 I didn’t want to use Warp and so, if I remember correctly, I think I just let Salem do his thing and if people got put to sleep, I just made sure to keep them away from enemies. Of course this meant the Sleep staff was broken by the end of the map. I didn’t Hammerene it (which is part of the reason why I decided to go A Route for the Sleep Swords). Mareeta is great! Her part in the story is good and she’s a good combat unit. Funnily enough, Shiva ended up with better stats for me by the end of the game cause I gave him a bunch of scrolls and mass leveled him around Ch. 22/23 lol. Using them both was great fun. I’ve said this before, but yeah, Thracia’s “difficulty” is grossly overrated. Yes it has its hard moments (Xavier’s recruitment is just fucking STUPID and the Tahra Defense Map, I think Ch. 14, drove me MAD), but it’s also REALLY fun. You can really make some broken units and watch them BURN the enemies down. Part of the reason I love FE so much, is the ability to watch your characters become monsters and obliterate enemy after enemy. Merric was like that for me in FE3, Dimitri in 3H, Céline in Engage, Leo in Conquest, Sara in Thracia, and Lewyn + Ced in Genealogy. Plus, I think Thracia is the best FE has ever been gameplay wise (yes even with its quirks) and none of the games after have come close, which is crazy since Thracia is from 1999 lol. I do hope more people play it!!! And I hope Intelligent Systems doesn’t skip remaking it one day. It deserves the love

0:07 Thinking about that dreaded scheme still gives me nightmares... Curse you, Murder Hollace! 0:08 Hurray, the children weren't abandoned! 1:11 More Fog of War... Yay... 2:17 Oh yeah, big time! 3:35 I wish other Fire Emblem games had Crusader Scrolls, or at least items with the same effect, because I really like the concept of being able to modify a unit's growths and potentially fix a unit's weakness, or even enhance one of their strengths. Like, since we're talking about low Skill, imagine if Gonzalez in FE6 had some way to boost his Skill growth; with his already high Strength and Speed, plus the 30% increase to crit that Berserkers get in FE6, he'd become an absolute monster of a unit. Admittedly, whenever I use him, he usually becomes a monster anyway, but him having a Skill stat that actually exists would make him even more of a monster. 7:11 Oh god... Do we happen to have a Restore staff by any chance? 7:36 Well, f*ck. 10:04 Fair enough. As a wise man once said, "power is but an extension of oneself, and what is a sword if not power wrought in steel?" A sword can only truly be evil if it is an extension of the power of an evil wielder. 11:25 In other words, you could play this map normally and risk having a few units fall asleep... OR YOU COULD USE THE WARP STAFF!!! 21:05 Mareeta is the Anti-Dimitri confirmed? 22:50 In some ways, Mareeta kind of reminds me of Edward, since she's a Myrmidon with high Strength along with the standard high Skill and Speed. 33:47 Movement Star Count: 59 41:25 Movement Star Count: 60 42:49 Movement Star Count: 61 47:12 Yo, Fateful Confrontation, based song choice!

I kind of like the contrast between these last few chapters and their moods/atmosphere. You see these different sides of the people with good and bad authority figures put together, and the bandits actually steal stuff. Got the rank for Warp just in time. A note about Sleep/status priority is that they will target the highest HP unit for priority (Dagdar in this case), but Leif is always treated as 1 HP so they don't just softlock you from being unable to seize. I believe Salem's AI to act here is a straight 50% coinflip. Maybe if he actually did only Sleep people that got "near" him it would feel more fair, but alas infinite range. 8:53 I agree that this conversation is pretty inspiring, especially also with recruiting a dark mage on the side, and I like that Mareeta's arc has this progression across the whole game so it makes sense to be using her. On the other hand, if you do actually kill her in Chapter 5 then she won't join here. 12:40 I guess you could say Safy still managed to miss with Warp in her own way. 34:30 The fog lifting is kind of one of the more FE6 gaiden moments in that sense. If you do take too long, August does tell Leif that the Dandelion is chill and they leave them alone.

Salem and Perne's crew are those guys who unironically think Superman and Batman should shoot people dead. I literally had a heart attack when Saias showed up onscreen One Piece has "evil" weapons, only for a master swordsmith to be like "Yeah, of course that sword took countless lives! THAT WHAT A SWORD DOES! It means it's good at its job!" Yay Marteeta! Okay weird point but isn't it weird that outside this game and Catherine specifically, female Myrmidons don't wear pants? okay Mareeta having potentially 40 attacks in a single turn with her sword, Adept and Astra is hysterical. 14:50 Ladies and Gents, the gimmick of this map (Wish we could get one of them as a playable unit, but I'm not sure about that.) 14:58 Ah, yes, The Stage Magician herself. There's a good reason why I call her that. 15:47 Tina's asking the good questions here. She's probably going to ask about how some people in the army have Blue or Green hair 18:14 And he's in a bad (Or good, if they're recruitable) franchise for bandits, because most bandits are always on a timer until they die in this franchise. 22:05 Oh, It's one of those Eastern Standard Time archetypes, E.S.T. for short (Don't know if Mareeta counts as an Est, since this is the Mid Game and not the Late Game, but I'm not that good at remembering rules for FE archetypes). This one is _"The Cooler Shannan."_ There's one rule for anyone who wants to use an Est: *Until they become anyone's take on a Soulsborne boss, don't immediately throw them at enemies, because they're usually fragile at first, will die fast if they're hit by an enemy a few times, and won't realize their full potential if they're dead.* I'm probably exaggerating here, but that's my take on Est. 46:49 "Oh, you mean that novel from Tellius? Solo, I presume? It was a better story than that romance novel they call "Twilight". Or was it that book from Hoshido called "Revelations"? Well, I will never know. I read too many books. I even read a book about a retired bandit who massacred bandit clans in his skivvies, I believe he was a former Captain, if I'm not mistaken." 47:09 DARK MAGE! Sorry, I meant LOPTRIAN MAGE! This is a weird type of Dark Mage, in that Loptrian Mages get to use an extra Magic thing: Staves. And he has the ability to use and even starts off with a Status Staff, which is a very good thing in 776, as well as using other staves. Now, his ability to use Dark Magic is hampered by the fact that you can't buy them and usually have to be stolen by other dark mages, but he can use all the other types of magic (No Light Magic, for Obvious Reasons), and will be as good as any other mage. But remember this about mages: CON does nothing for magic tomes (I hope I'm not wrong), so don't bother leveling CON, unless it's for Capturing Enemies. Also, this is one of the few maps where you can buy Wind Tomes. So, if you want them, get them now, because you won't buy any more of them until the late game.

So, a couple things to note here. First off the village in the southwest always gives a vulnerary even without rescuing Rosa in 11x. Found that out after running through 11x 3 separate times and Rosa kept getting meteored. On another note, you capturing Salem with Olwen brings up an interesting point, Olwen is in theory one of if not the best capturing units in the game. She may be frail and all, but with her 15 might brave tome and mounted status, so long as she can hit a target consistently, she can realistically capture anything even on terrain.This is something only mage knights can do since infantry mages don't have enough con to capture consistently and mounted units don't have access to magic damage at one range. Olwen is especially noteworthy in this department since her personal tome guarantees access to at least 15 might and a brave effect, something later mage knights can only come close to with use of thoron with 20 might, though it doesn't have a brave effect on it. Definitely a feature to keep in mind since bosses from this point on get harder and harder to capture and Olwen often becomes the only person who can consistently capture them since they're immune to status on gates and thrones, and their massive defences make them only capturable using crits which are unreliable.

Ah dammit we haven't found the light switch yet. 0:37 Thracia is really upping its game. Mid game bandits. 1:11 Ah dammit there is no light switch! 2:54 Truly a Thracia moment. Softlocks due to not enough resources. 4:13 Hello, two not ugly dudes. 6:35 A lot of names to be thrown on a cutscene within the blackness of Thracia Fog. 7:23 Also suddenly the people in this house have +30 Hit and Avoid, what's up with that? 10:42 A very neat in-universe explanation of why neither Eyvel nor Mareeta would counter each other in that 1v1 feat. Nanna. 11:57 How nice of the Warp staff to show you where you can't drop the unit in. Through the fog. 13:00 Salem's about to get Dire Thunder jumpscared. 15:23 Good thing we went to that other fog of war bandit map then. 16:16 It's a bandit convention! Some have their axe to the left, some to the right. 17:25 And now we have *three* dismounted promoted units. 21:20 I mean, her reclass from Sniper to Swordmaster went surprisingly well, especially since reclassing is not a mechanic yet. 21:51 What is your strength base, miss. Mareeta: "Yes" 24:01 Thankfully just like fire emblem bandits, the scam call bandits are really bad at actually stealing anything. 26:56 Seeing as it's Thracia Silence, if you were to point it at a kid they'd be basically mute until somebody uses Restore on them. 27:51 In typical Naga fashion, it's a buttload of Magic and a bit of Luck. 28:54 Sasha's the trainee pegasus knight, rather. @ I could see that being possible although it's also possible that so much time had passed that Naga had to do the Blood Pact again because the Holy Blood became so diluted by the time of the First Exalt or even by the time of Marth especially since Marth is only Anri's Great-Grand Nephew he might of only had Minor Holy Blood if any so that's why Naga had to redo the pact with the First Exalt. It's possible Anri and his brother both had Major Holy Blood but given that Anri is the more legendary of the two I could be just assuming he had the Major Holy Blood.

They're unique and cool, one of them joining on this map and the other joining next time! On the other hand, a sleep staffer boss in the fog is very mean especially because the restore staff isn't available yet, and the forest terrain makes moving around annoying without warps. -I love that Warping can "see" a bit in the dark, a super handy mechanic. -Gotta love these brigands with the Steal skill, being extra annoying. -Glad you mentioned Salem's hair Tina, it is truly amazing. -I guess you're doing the Salem capture with Olwen because...variety? She can just be flown over by Karin. Finn and Dagdar with brave weapons are better at doing the Salem capture, but indeed it's at the very start of the map so whatever you want to savescum for is fine. -idk if there's some significance to Dandelion in Japan or if it's just a Kaga thing, but he does use it again (for a weapon!) in Vestaria Saga. -Heck yeah, Mareeta is super fun. Just don't get unlucky and die, frail young girl...terrain is your friend. -Colho is a trap imo, Vantage isn't that great of a skill and capturing him is a pain. I think it's better to just slip by him, but you handled it well. So many traps for the Capture Greed in this game... -Thracia is indeed mostly about understanding its mechanics. Once you do, it becomes really fun. The enemy quality is low, you can pull off a lot of tricks and your bag of them is really deep. I mean even a 0% growths run isn't that different from an optimal run of the game. -I thought you might give Olwen that magic ring right away, but maybe you're saving it for someone else. Lots of good options. -LMAO, hilarious dark magic sad crowd noises! Salem is indeed really cool since he can use so many things even before promotion. Dark tomes are good for selling at least.

The 'x' tiles can be helpful sometimes, it means there's either terrain or an enemy there. The Steal Brigands are funny, though it's cool they have a different sprite. -I did it with Olwen because of the Magic Ring house, Olwen needed to be on that side of the river anyway. -I know Leon, the Champion of Sword/Shield, is named after dandelions too. -Imo there's a few more even worse capture greed bosses, especially once Master weapons start being common. (I feel like nearly every late-game boss has a Master weapon)

Woo! Two more of my favorite units! (Honestly, I do like a good chunk of the cast despite their lack of substance) Especially Salem. The first playable dark mage sets the bar high, despite his limited story. And next chapter, we tie for the 2nd highest number of bios. Possibly surpassing depending on a specific something. Looking forward to it

This chapter was pretty much the sword unit grind season for me and even if I think some got put to sleep, none of them ever were really stolen from. Mareeta: On this map there are reinforcements and that did help with her grind maybe even close to a promotion point, but she was more primarily used on the B route file (The route I did not take) while she was still pretty decent there my Thracia file is really long gone now so I can’t continue my experience with her even if I wanted to. Salem: Now I will say most of his potency did come from an Arena grind to get him to A rank dark magic and capped speed and magic on chapter 22 so maybe his training wasn’t exactly ethical. But still he was a pretty nice staff unit at least and his hard hits were still nice and his A rank Magic moment was a pretty big key into getting my victory in the final chapter.

Salem really deserved better than being a staffbot, *he's the first ever playable Dark Magic user in the series,* so why the heck did they make his standout thing *not be his Dark Magic?* He's the character that I'd add to an FE4 remake if I could only add one character from this game to it during gen2, he'd bring a new perspective to the story, have an *obscene* amount of boss conversation potential. Plus if they were to add a more traditional support system to the game, he could have some really interesting supports and conversations. However I'd also add his other allies in the Dandelion Bandits as well, could also have some interesting perspective to the story. The depth that he could add would be amazing and it would be such a waste if he wasn't put into the inevitable FE4 remake, now I'm not saying that it'll be the next Fire Emblem game for sure, but *it's going to be remade at some point* in the future.

Ahhh, the forest shitshow. I'd like this chapter if the Sleep mechanics were more transparent, and if the impassable thicket tiles were better defined... The main gimmick of this map is indeed Kakyoin, and his chance to use the Sleep staff is simply an exact 50-50. I guess you were a bit unlucky to get a 60% chance in your testing. :p As for the bandits, a small correction: I don't believe the Steal skill gives extra EXP. It's just that all the non-Steal brigands here are levels 2, or 5-6, and the Steal brigands are level ~10 (aside from 2 of them). These Steal guys are kinda weird, btw. There is an "alternate" Brigand class that you'd _expect_ is made for these guys, since they have the different sprite, the Steal skill and all. But no. They're just regular brigands, with the Steal personal skill, and they're using the alt Brigand's map sprite without being in its class. Weird. Also, some people believe that the Steal Brigands are the ones that will go for the houses. It'd make sense: they're the ones with the axe on the left, just like in Genealogy! But no. In fact, _none_ of the steal brigands have the pillage AI. There's only three (non-steal) guys that have it on the right side of the map, and then everyone else on the left of the river. That's about it for the usual informative post, though I'd like to thank you for making these LPs nice, pleasant, and non-threatening. You brought up the game's reputation in this video, and it's actively deterring a lot of people from playing this... actually really interesting game. But your presentation style seems to be bringing in a lot of new players, and that's a delight to see, honestly.

It's kinda weird they introduce Sleep on a fog map when you have no means of curing it. At least this isn't an Escape mission. Also lol Kakyoin. I didn't notice the resemblence until other comments pointed it out. The weird alt Brigand class reminds me of the "Corsair" class ("Lake Thief" in Japanese) in FE7, that's only used in Linus' Four-Fanged Offense. Serenes Forest says Steal adds 20 to the enemy's base exp yield in the formula, but that's an old page that could be wrong. Thanks for those words. It's been great having you along for the ride, too. This game is really interesting and, imo, more approachable than it seems IF you know some of its weird qualities, and I'm glad the comments like my approach. I feel like far too many FE fans are really harsh towards units and strategies they deem sub-optimal, and I try to stay as positive as I can.

Unfortunately Cormag and Dussell don't have a Paired Ending. 9:18 Interesting. I don't know anything about Warhammer, but this character intrigues me. 10:18 I think it works better this way. 12:06 That's pretty cool actually, and it lets you guess where the enemies are. 14:14 What even is that Staff's Range!? 14:43 I guess we should be grateful they don't have any Archers or Mages (other than Salem). Wait--they somehow made Sleep on par with Petrification from Sacred Stones!? 15:23 This game has a lot of "it pays off in the next chapter" moments, huh? 20:43 A group of bandits--noble or otherwise--calling themselves "The Dandelion" is hilarious! 21:09 Halleluiah! 22:08 Not even Amiti is that good! Actually no, this Sword is the perfect middle ground between Amiti and the Vague Katti from Path of Radiance! It's like what would happen if they made Stefan a Growth Unit, but still just as broken! 25:34 Still waiting for them to make Riki the next Nopon Sage. 27:49 As though they couldn't get any more broken. 30:18 That sounds fun! I had a similar idea to make Jill a hybrid physical and magical attacker using the Mage Band. With a base 30% Magic Growth, it's plausible. 31:27 I'm enjoying it. 35:21 I guess that shows that a lot of people will play the sidequests regardless. 38:22 It's still sweet that her first act defying the cult pays off for her so well. 41:13 "But we won't!" 45:13 This is shaping up to be an interesting Gaiden Chapter! 47:16 I can see why when Gharnef was the first ever Dark Magic user. Dark Magic in these stories tends to corrupt the wielder if they're not disciplined enough.

0:41- I wouldn't really call this a filler arc since it's only two chapters. Plus "filler" implies nothing of value that changes the main stuff and the stuff you get from this and 12x REALLY impacts your run of Thracia. This point marks where if you've been diligent and playing well with getting characters and side stuff is where Thracia truly starts becoming the "Thracia" people think of with all of the tricks and genius stupidity the game can let you get away with. 1:58- Provided you do the "thing" 12x is best known for that is. 11:48- And ideally never uses it. It may take a lot of resets/reloads, but trust me newcomers when I say that you REALLY want to catch Salem before he even gets a chance to use that staff; A fully use Sleep Staff gives you A LOT of options and flexibility to neutralize two scary targets and have an extra use left for something important if you plan on going to 17A. 12:39- Honestly, not a bad idea Klingy. I never considered using her; Only used Finn or Dagdar instead and honestly, Olwen might be a good pick since it means she doesn't have to deal with throne defense bonuses for her capture while the other two do. I might try this next time. Though the only issue with this one is how I like her getting combat against the bandits on this map so I don't have to grind/worry to much on Chapter 13 to get her Thunder Rank to A. Also if she fights on this side of the map, she might deny a certain someone else EXP too. That aside, it's a very inspired idea Klingy. (18:43- Okay, that might be a serious damper to that plan; Forgot there were bandits in range to attack whoever captures Salem; Could have sworn you at least had a turn before they came. Still really like it, just a shame it has some RNG after the capture too.) 15:55- For some reason I remembered the entire conversation happening right after the Salem and Perne one at the start. Guess that was a false memory as you've proven here. 16:59- And that's neat since it fits into Perne's style of banditry. Even if the ones we're facing want to kill for their loot, they still know to follow the thieving tactics of Perne when the opportunity arises. That's really cool. 23:43- Mareeta's such a fun unit. I know some players have started giving her crap as they hyper focus and only care about staff and utility units by Thracia's second half, but I will always love using her. She always get the Paragon manual and it becomes VERY fun having her snowball into a such a strong combat unit. The only real issue I say she has is that she REALLY needs to snowball fast as she doesn't have many free maps to train on given how intense 13, 14, and 14x can be and how 12x isn't a good map to train on due to its gimmick to cheese it. Yes there is an arena on this map, but I usually like assuming no arena grinding for how good units are (unless your name is Tom from Tear Ring where you actually want to arena grind with him) on top how this map has a time limit if you want to unlock 12x, so you really need optimize her early kills ASAP to get the most out of her later. Aside from that, fun unit and there's a reason why she's a fan favorite for many players of this game. 25:52- Even if it's more so supposed to be snowy than night time, I always consider Chapter 4 in FE4 a night time map. 26:33- And I recommend selling stuff and even arena grinding if you're feeling lucky to get the money for these wind tomes. You REALLY want to buy these tomes and stockpile as many as you can get. 30:30- And once again, I will advocate for some favoritism for Karin since if she takes off and becomes strong quite early, it really helps to enable you with the things you can do in later maps. 31:13- Though I'd argue Thracia gets the best of both worlds since before you do a lot of enemy phasing, you need to get A LOT done first on your own turn from captures, staff plays, trading, and so much more. Thracia can still very dependent on what you do on the player phase, so when you do get enemy phases and take care of the enemy with ease, it feels VERY rewarding unlike some FEs where you just park one strong combat unit and things die without much effort or thought as the rest of the player phase wasn't used for much else besides that. Thracia is a very immersive game for the player provided they understand all the cool things you can do with the tools it offers you. It's one of the few games in the series where both player and enemy phasing feels key and it's all about how you set everything up with what the game gives you. 35:59- Huh, that's interesting with Salem. Never knew that. 38:59- And you also held onto him for most of Chapter 8; Were it not for that one person pointing it out, I would have almost missed that too. lol 41:43- Never underestimate the power of ghosts Klingy. lol Especially if they're annoying, hard to hit ones that destroy your units morale and makes them run away even in a winning battle. 46:38- Yeah, that's a great conversation and it's nice having more "involved" characters actually being used to give more weight to their stories like this. 47:27- lmao With these sound effects. 47:28- Though on that note, what was the first FE game where it was worth using a Dark mage BECAUSE of their actual dark magic? Not Salem since he's used more for staves (more on that in a moment), Niime's considered the best dark mage in FE6 and that's because of her staff rank too, I would say Canas but people have turned around against him and Luna to focus on early promote him ALSO for staff utility (at least Luna gets some points for being used by Athos to solo the Fire Dragon potentially, but Athos himself isn't Dark Mage), Sacred Stones you use Dark Mages to get to Summoners, PoR didn't have any Dark Mages and RD's only Dark Mage needed a second run and beyond to get and is debatably worth using for Dark Magic since that's a siege tome user who can do funny things on certain end game maps... Did it really until Awakening and Fates for people to actually use Dark Mages for the sake of actually using Dark Magic? 47:23- Oh wait a minute, Fateful Confrontation! Hurray! 48:18- More indeed. Salem's great. If you promote him early and train up his staff rank ASAP, he'll be a main stay as one of your A Rank Staff users. A shame dark magic sucks in this game, but glad Salem has staves to make him a stand out unit. In other news, good amount of progress with a good amount of frustration in Reboot Camp. The overall recent play sessions were quite fun... Until the Hunt's End happened. That one really pissed me off since besides the Kanbai and Max combo, felt like I couldn't do anything fun or creative with my CO picks and the map still frustrated me as I had to redo it multiple times before doing that combo and do it yet again when I didn't get S Rank on my first clear. Might be blasphemy for die hard AW fans for me to say this, but I honestly really don't like the factory missions at all so far. The only one I maybe liked so far was Lash's/Blue Moon, but it was very boring after the initial few turns. Hope that Green Earth's is actually interesting and fun, especially to make up for Hunt's End. F^^^ that map, hope who designed it spills an expensive drink on themselves, and I have to wonder why more AW fans don't lump this one in with its more infamous missions. But at least I got my S Rank (barely; 289), so I can move onto something fu- And then I did Sinking Feeling next, which was a frikin slog of a map that I also had to redo since getting a good power score on that map sucks as Drake (honestly wonder if it's worth having Kanbai take the lower port and send units to destroy the last black cannon instead of Drake). After another close S Rank (285), I finally got to enjoy actually good missions in Green Earth and been having as much fun again as I was having with most of the Gold Comet Missions before Hunt's End. Got three more missions left of Green Earth, then it's onto the last two missions and I'll have beaten the game, though not sure if I'll call it there for Reboot Camp since I do want to do some more stuff (like War Room) before writing a review for it and moving onto another game.

@jaredfayette2567 It is more like a short break from the main action which is helping out Tahra. Sleep is normally the first thing I repair since you do end using this first Sleep staff a lot. I wouldn't use Olwen for this since her stats make a successful capture risky due to the poor hit rate and her lack of bulk means she might get picked off by the bandits. Fergus is normally used since he is more than strong enough to capture with the Brave Sword and he has less problems keeping himself safe. It does mean that any bandit with steal is a threat if you try braving the Sleep staff. Mareeta is one of the reasons why I really love the growth units in Thracia since she is so much fun to use and I do enjoy training her but it can be a bit intense since I train her on Chapter 14 which is normally a very risk affair unless she levels up her bulk fast. I don't really mind when people say she is unoptimal since they have a fair point due to her bases but the amount of fun she brings to my Thracia playthroughs makes it hard to not want to train her. Imagining Chapter 4 at night is really cool since I assume the scenery would look amazing. Getting those Wind tomes is part of my to do list for this chapter and the arena can help with that. It is kind of painful to watch this playthrough just because Karin isn't trained and I am so used to her being this very strong and helpful unit. I say that Thracia does strike a very good balance between the player and enemy phase since it does feel like I am putting in a lot of work to make my player phases easier. Also mounts having Canto does really help the player phase too. Mareeta also feels like a very strong character when she gets to speak as well. That is hard to say since FE6 does have a decent Nosferatu that only weighs 6 but Raigh and Sophia aren't considered amazing units and Niime is busy using staves. FE7 does have Luna which is only situationally good since only really bosses are worth using it for. If you want a definitive answer, it would probably be Awakening due to the power of Nosferatu but I can see Waste being useful since it is brave and the low hit rate can be easily remedied in this game and Ruin has 50 crit which is more funny than anything. Hex and Anathema work wonderfully alongside these tomes as well. Salem is nowhere near the best combat a staff bot has but he can defend himself decently with Wind which is one reason why he is a main stay staff bot for me. That factory was probably the hardest S rank for me to figure out due to the power score so since I was playing the GBA original, a choke point strategy with Kanbei to help with that was what I needed while Max destroys the pipe. Wasn't Drake's Dilemma the first Drake mission? Either way, I remember not liking that map either since it is very slow paced and the only enjoyment I get is using Drake's power. Glad to hear the rest of Green Earth is going better, probably helped by awesome Eagle's missions are. War room is just an optional extra in my eyes so I would do the review after the final mission but you do you. As for myself, Innocent Sin is going nicely in terms of recording it and we are nearing the endgame dungeon as well. My brother beat the FF7 remake and it was quite the fun game to experience despite the drastic change in the plot we saw at the end. Now, he is working on getting achievements but mainly playing the game on Hard mode where items are completely banned and only HP is fully healed when you rest or beat a sidequest meaning MP consumption is important but you get all of your MP back when you start the next chapter. You have that on top of enemies being strong and having new tactics but you are able to use your characters from the first playthrough who are well equipped for this challenge. It seems to be going well for him despite the tricky battle with Hell House causing problems. We are also chatting a lot of about FF7 thanks to him playing the remake and thinking about our playthroughs of the original which we did quite a while a go at this point. I don't think we were chatting to each other when I took on my own FF7 playthrough.

@@BerserkerRohan That's a better way to describe it rather than filler. And honestly a good use. I'd rather cheese and not need to repair that staff ASAP, but if I didn't do the warp cheese to get it in perfect condition, then I'd use a Hammerne use for it (I think I normally do since I think I often need to repair it by 17A, but you get my point). That's true as well, though I still give Klingy points for creativity. ... Wait how the F^^^ have I never thought to use Fergus for the Salem capture?! That's certainly egg on my face now. She is a prime example of growth units being quite great to use in Thracia. Again, some have turned on her due to the hyper focus on staves and utility, but even with that in mind she's fun to use and still offers a lot as a "non optimal pick." Also I'm the same where it's hard for me to imagine a run where I don't use her. I imagine that it would be as well. For all the crap I sometimes give Chapter 4 in FE4, its looks are amongst what I do like about that map when you aren't backtracking and/or getting blocked by mountains. I also agree with that assessment. Also helping with that too is capturing since it makes you a lot more aware of your actions and positioning on both phases as well. Again, Thracia hits such a sweet spot between the two phases. Yeah man... It really did take until Awakening for Dark Magic to actually be actively sought after. That said, I do appreciate you pointing out Waste and Ruin too besides the usual Nosferatu spam. Getting Wind tomes for Salem is also a priority of mine since if he does need to fight, it means I don't have a staff user risking a double because they were using a dark tome instead. At the very least, you got to enjoy that strategy since that won't work in Reboot Camp due to the scoring change for it only counting the turn player and not the main one. Like the change overall, but MAN I wished I had that for this mission. I got STUPIDLY lucky during my run since on top of two damaged units from earlier turns, by passable power score was gifted to me when Adder had three mechs along the road by the pipe seam and all in range for my bombers to destroy on the same turn. That said, not going to look a gifted horse in the mouth. Glad to be done that stupid f^^^ing mission. Hunt's End SUCKS. It is. Not going to lie, in practice I did actually really like the concept of the map and I'd be a liar if I said I was completely devoid of fun during it. That said, I still found it a massive slog of a map and not a fun one to redo because how hard it is to set up a decent power score for Drake as well a decent speed score depending on how much Hawke uses Black Storm. I would say things got better after that mission... Well they did until I hit To the Rescue. F^^^ this mission as well. How am I finding a mission raising my blood pressure the same as Hunt's End already?! Or worse, how it's giving me the same level of hatred and frustration that made me drop the OG AW1 during the Sonya missions. Can't even get past Day 3 or 4 without something going horrifically wrong. I'm *this* close to where if I get my hands on Adder, his head is going on a f^^^ing pike if I could do it in the game. If my next attempt or two doesn't work I'm just going to watch how another person handles it since at this point this is just f^^^ing stupid and I hate how a mission I was looking forward to as an SamixEagle shipper be one of the missions I hate the most. I was hoping to have beaten the game by Yesterday or today, but that's been pushed back for sure by this stupid f^^^ing mission. EDIT: Free of To the Rescue now. Did need to use someone else's guide to do it (did try to deviate on the side to see if I could improve it, only for any minor changes to never matter), but screw it. That mission unfortunately sucks and feels like a bad AW1 Mission (i.e the occasional AW1 mission that has only one real solution and a mostly unfun one at that, takes too much trial and error to figure out said solution, and doesn't feel satisfying when you beat it). At least I can move onto the Great Sea Battle, which I'm honestly enjoying so far, though I had call it for the night; Thank goodness for the auto save feature for mid mission breaks. Maybe. I still might mess with it a bit to get some more marks on the Dog Tag you get to show your completion of the game. Nice to hear Innocent Sin going well for you as you reach the end game. Glad one of us is actually going to get to enjoy the end game of their respective game soon. Sorry, my day was entirely soured by To the Rescue. But seriously, glad to see you make progress there. Best of luck with the endgame there. Likewise with your brother beating FFVIIR. Well done on his end and nice to hear it was a good time despite some major changes. Best of luck getting the achievements he still needs. Though Hard Mode certainly sounds rather extreme. An interesting idea I won't deny, but it does sound rather extreme to me. Hopefully it doesn't lean too much into RD Hard Mode of it taking away stuff just to make things harder artificially. At least you get the end of chapter recover and your stuff carrying over (though I'd rather not imagine the hell of doing it on a fresh file without that prior power). As for if we've talked about the play through of the OG, I honestly forget as well. I could have seen it happen, but if that play through happened before like mid 2020 or whenever we started to talk more regularly during the P4G LP, then I doubt we got to chance to.

@@jaredfayette2567 There are quite a few good sleep targets before you get another way to put enemies to sleep so the first Sleep staff ends up getting repaired a good amount. Fergus is always a go to for important captures like this. I don't know if Mareeta is my favourite growth unit but she is up there. I always liked what Chapter 4 looked like as well. You could say that Kaga did perfect his map design style with this game. I think Waste is kind of hard to get but with Armsthrift, you can make it last. Nosferatu being buyable is a nice feather in the cap since you don't need that skill as much. He can fight somewhat well with Wind as well although mainly after promotion. I like that factory mission in concept as well but it is quite the pain to S rank and not well suited for how the scoring works especially in Reboot Camp. At this point in the game, I was also using a guide as a reference of sorts to give me an idea of how to play the map and if I can't get the S rank, I follow the guide more closely. I also remember needing a map for the lasers which really helps keeps the units safe. I don't remember liking that mission either but I wasn't hating it as much as you. Great Sea Battle is a really cool factory mission if you get the strategy down so hopefully it keeps going well. I think part of it is that my mission for coming back to AW2 was to unlock Sturm so once I did that, I was content. I still do have a long way to go with Innocent Sin despite having access to the final dungeon since during it, you unlock quite a lot of content that I want to do before the end, but being this close to the end does feel really cool. I am not sure if you can do Hard mode with a fresh save due to how the chapter selection system works but even with very optimal setups, it can be quite challenging with Chakra and Prayer being extremely useful due to healing without needing to spend MP. I pretty sure it was before 2020 since it was one of the first RPGs I played on the Switch. I wouldn't mind replaying it again when a good opportunity occurs.

I played on an early Project Exile patch (somehow Project Exile is 6 years old) and I don't remember the scene being that different from what's in the video. Then again that was about 6 years ago so my memory might be wrong. Personally I'm fine with enemy phase focused games. That's not to say I dislike player phased focused games, but I find the specific way it's done matter more with them. For example, I'm not a fan of FE6 but I do like Engage. This game's difficulty is exaggerated, but I do think the way the mechanics are/can be obtuse makes the game harder than it otherwise would be. Genuinely I would've hated playing this game if I didn't look up how it worked ahead of time.

Time for the only fog-of-war chapter on the game that isn’t a side chapter. Warping on turn 1 to capture Salem is a good strategy as you don’t have to worry about units being put to sleep or having to repair the sleep staff. Also grab to vantage manual from the boss. Mareeta: *Laughs maniacally* One of the most powerful units in the game hands down. Mareeta is absurd, a sword user with very good growths, luna, adept on promotion, a secret event that gives her astra AND a very good personal weapon. I like to give her the paragon manual as it makes her level up even faster. Also as a funny side note, in my most recent playthrough I used her and thanks to giving her a bunch of scrolls….she literally capped out every stat except HP and Con all while having 11 MOVEMENT WITHOUT THE LEG RING. Salem: The very first dark magic user in Fire Emblem….which in this game is a bit underwhelming. To put things in perspective Jormagand is about as heavy as Olwen’s Dire thunder so Salem will have basically no speed when using it. However Salem can also use a particular dark magic long range tome if your able to take one from a loptyr mage. But there is a catch, said tome is A rank and Salem starts with C dark magic and promotion doesn’t help him with his dark magic rank. Which means if you want to use the long range tome Salem would have to use Jormagand 100 TIMES to get to A rank, which considering his lack of speed that’s not likely to happen. He is a nice staff user though and being able to use staffs before promotion while not being able to be instantly captured is very nice.

Chapter 12.. Salem & Lifis? Huh.. I C.. Not wrong about the Loptian Cultists.. Eesh. (Collin & his bandits.. Yeah.. At least he was an option to capture well to reelased.. Interesting implications that this boss was either left out to death or worse or killed off immediately offscreen or wherever he's never seen again no knows for sure or hardly cared by others for the matter..) Mareeta.. Given the reason of guilts & regrets even her weakness such as her own vulnerabilities to carry the burden now gives her a sole purple to fight & live on for her mother Eyvel who adopts her as her own, in order to fight alongside her little lord Leif to bring her mother back after this war's long journey.. Quite the redemption she lives up her name & her inheritance from Eyvel.. Like Mother Like Daughter indeed.. Thank U Eyvel.. Never fret, she'll be a great swordwoman.. U will C after throughout of this war. (Thnx Saias.. She wouldn't gone this far without your help.. Who knows to cross paths..) Tina? Oh.. Salem.. That's nice for him.. After that, Oh? New recruit. Cool.

A weird breather of a chapter... if you go after Salem immediately. And Mareeta is hilariously nuts for being so lackluster in the raw stats department. Funnily enough, I'd also started to notice how enemy-phase focused Thracia ends up once you don't have to prioritize capturing as often.
@BigKlingy
@BigKlingy 9 күн бұрын
Only reason I did is because if I didn't, I'd need to Hammerne the Sleep Staff. I'm going to NEED it for a few things later. Mareeta is an exception to Thracia's "base stats are really important" rule, but she also follows Thracia's viability rules in other ways, bonkers FCM, personal weapon and skills. Another commenter mentioned: Mareeta can actually one-round Endgame enemies off her base stats. And yeah, that's a thing. We're getting a bit more self-sufficient in terms of basic weapons (and need to save convoy space), after this point capturing is mainly for REALLY good stuff and staves. Very soon we'll be seeing Rewarp Loprtians and let's just say Kaga might not have expected people to capture them en-mass.

As someone with a bias towards the Dark Mages, Salem is the character in this game I give a lot of favoritism to. Saving the two magic rings for him and giving him Paragon and Wrath. With both the Heim and Ced Scrolls while he uses staffs in the next few chapters, he quickly reaches 20 magic, making him very good at dealing with the soon to be influx of enemy mages. It’s completely ridiculous and not at all what he’ll averagely accomplish. But it’s fun. The only thing is it’s a struggle to make him reach A rank Dark for the sole meme purpose of having him use Fenrir. No matter how much favoritism he’s given.

Scam calls are an annoyance at best and actively malicious at worst. And the rise of AI has only made those all the worse. When you have skills and weapons that no one else can learn or use, that can make you good even if your initial stats or growths don't seem outstanding. That's the strength Mareeta has. Also, all three of her variants in Feh are sword infantries.

@BigKlingy understood And I'm taking the other route this time(I took route B originally) because at least I don't have to recruit some random princess in some castle but then the chapter tells me to escape already, I swear I didn't know you could seize the castle because I saw the escape point first. Although RIP silver card but at this point I might as well arena abuse using mounted units because if Excelblem can do it, then I can do it as a casual player who doesn't really care about ranks on first play throughs. Other than that thanks for the reminder to have alot of savestates in case something like this happens again.

*Unit Review* Mareeta's fairly overrated the other swordmasters are all lower cost investments. But hey, she's really fun to use and the gap isn't much anyways. Fun fact, despite her low bases her offense is so potent she can oneround enemies in Endgame at base. Dondon used this in 0% growths once I think. Granted, that's also due to Thracia enemies being weak but it's impressive nonetheless. Salem's combat stinks but he's your second earliest A staffer so who cares? I guess he's not at risk of instantly being captured like Safy.

She can one-round endgame enemies at base... I'm not surprised but that's hilarious. Having a weapon is a double-edged sword since it means enemies will go for the kill. Usually. But with +4 promo defense he can be pretty bulky sometimes.
