@@carlgreen998 I disagree, it has always been very strong in static events. He focused mostly on Superseries, Europe Stromngest Man and WSM. He is the inspiration of many including the current champion.

@@carlgreen998 he wasn't the strongest WSM winner, but in his era it was a lot more about moving with weight, and he was undoubtedly one of the greatest ever in that area. He did what he needed to win. Don't forget that ASC was completely new when Mariusz was competing, so it didn't have the reputation it has now.

I think it would be interesting to go back and try to define the ‘Major’ Comps each year and then come up with who has won the most majors (presumably it’s Big Z by a long stretch). Every era the big comps outside of WSM are different but I think this would help give context for the guys who won a lot of big competitions that no longer exist (IFSA WSM, Fortissimus, World Muscle Power, etc) to be able to compare those to WUS/Arnold success or present day guys

I don't think so. This year the weights were lighter and he was close only because top three? guys did not compete. I like JF but don't think he stand a chance to win.

Great video Loz. After Brian and Zydrunas held the top 2 positions for such a long time, it’s been interesting to have 4 different winners in 4 years. It’s hard to predict what the future holds, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Oleksii win the title again.

Jon Pall didn't actually step away after 1990. He was supposed to compete in 1992. It was supposed to be Jon Pall vs Magnus in Iceland. The day before the start he tore his bicep, forcing him to withdraw (the event tester Ilkka Kinnunen stepped in as an alternate).

Love the revamp. I personally can’t see anyone who’s currently competing winning worlds 6 times, because there’s no one person who stands out as a dominator, but lots of good guys who can challenge each other.

Think that's what happens when a lot of the guys do strongman fulltime now. Even 10 years back it wasn't like that and ofc certain athletes will shine faster if they have all the time in the world to dedicate to strongman.

Zydrunas is the greatest strongman of all time. 8asm titles, 2 isfa titles, 4 wsm titles and 5 or 6 2nd places. He not a goat he is a chupacabra.

Dmitry Klokov as a powerlifter is more famous than people that have beat him only because of his great physique. Nobody knows the nr one. Kids are attracted to great strong look like Pudzianovsky and Hafthor.. I bet more people joined Strongman because of watching Pudzianovsky and Hafthor on TV than Zydrus with his massive belly.

I've gone back and forth on what I think Martins can do going forward. I think if he stays healthy and focused he could have a few more exciting contests in him. Tom Stoltman should also dominate the present and future.

Pure Strength in 1987 was a competition with just 3 competitors, JP, Bill and Geoff. Unfortunately Geoff injured himself so it became more of a head to head! From 1988 to 1990 Pure Strength was a team comp.
