Vic Vega so I had this crazy idea to make a Doot emote for my Twitch channel, cause Doom, so I went online and bought a toy trumpet Kazoo that makes noise. That was one stipulation, it needed to make noise. I think for the screenshot, I took it from a video of me playing Careless Whisper on it. Aaaaand it works lol

Vic Vega not sure! But thank you for the updoot 😎 it’s a kazoo so it’s not too bad! Guitar is something I take more seriously music wise. But I basically meme’d myself for the sake of a Twitch emote! 😆

If you watch some of the later videos in the walkthrough, for example E6M7 or E6M9, the audio is even more messed up. The commentary comes from the left speaker and the game audio is reversed, what is on the right side, comes from the left speaker, and stuff on the left side comes from the right speaker.
@demogorgonzola5 жыл бұрын
Suspect messed up audio cables, like RCAs hooked up the other way around and joiner to mix-in mike only on one of the lines or improper minijack joiner (remember, mike is mono)? But technical difficulties aside, they're still nice vids. :)

“I hooked up my computer to a dvd recorder device I own” That’s passion right there, dang! So you did post-commentary? Or just recording at the same time, on 2 devices, which meant you’d have to link the video and audio up? Neat info about no running! Very interesting info and throwback man. Cool to see the process.

Great flashback. This is first video I saw of yours and you had me hooked, big boy voice and all :) I think I had this game on my PC before Doom. At the time, I had a second hand piece of crap (just a handful of MB's vs GIG's) and I don't think I could even have both loaded on the harddrive at the same time. The old midi sound effects and pixelated graphics bring back the charms of the '90's. It was a fun game at the time and still is today. I've also watched your Wolfenstein walkthroughs. Gosh it's like in the first Zelda games, there's really no clue for the secrets, you literally have to try and push every wall of the game if you don't know it. And then, the Pirate Doom and the Golden Souls series were so entertaining. Anyway, thanks a lot for all these years, and keep it up! I'll definitely be watching. This is the first video I'm seeing on this channel, and it just pours charisma! Also, somehow you sound like two different distinctly fully grown adults, when compared present day to 8 years ago. Like, the voice from 8 years ago is the actor who is cast to play the present day you in a future biopic (sorry for getting so convoluted). He would look sort of similar, but mostly he'd be cast because a higher up would go "he's got a close enough range and he can mimic the vocal mannerisms pretty good" Edit: props for pulling off live commentary that actually presents well at the start! I tried doing that with halo 1 recently and I had to resign and go "ok, I just need to use the live mic track for making notes for post"

I was looking for a way to get 100% secrets on a Wolf3D or Doom map, and when coming across it I enjoyed a lot the way you do with your walkthroughs with comments, really useful and funny too. And wow, I am impressed that you did not run on the whole Wold3D walkthrough (very well explained here due to your resource limitations then). I immediately thought of E6M7 and that deadly corridor with the 4 rooms and the officers shooting from everywhere behind the pillars. Auld Lang Syne, BMD's Games Version Should all Doomslayers be forgot, And never brought to mind, Should Gordon Freeman be forgot, And BFG firing blind. For Spider Masterminds my dear, For our G-man so snide, We'll take a shot of plasma yet, For Adrian Shephard's pride! Should Pirate Doom have a sequel, And Golden Souls 3 down the line, Should Half Life 3 (!) release at last, And next Doom not far behind, For Black Mesa and science my dear, For Vortigaunts and Vance, We'll take a Soul Cube charged up yet, For BIGMACDAVIS SO FINEEEEEEEEEE!!! Have a great New Year BMD and keep up the lovely videos!

When I first uploaded videos to KZbin I used Fraps, but since my PC was to weak to record it in HD with decent framerate, I had to record it in half-screen resolution. Therefore my old videos are in such poor quality (although gameplay is good, and this is most important). What is interesting, some of my old videos are still quite popular (maybe because I recorded one of most obscure underrated games).

03:50 - Yaaaay, I guessed it! And, honestly, it's a very good way of doing it, because it won't make your gaming PC do additional job of recording. Well done, Mr. Davis! (Some R-rated sounds in the background…)

Well, you are quite the knowledgeable one, Janus, so I expected you to know this, and you did not disappoint. And what's this? You're making R-rated sounds in the background? Oh, naughty you! :D

Yeah, nobody cares about me getting the first like, I don't even care myself, but I just do it when the opportunity arises I guess. I'm weird, lol.
