Thanks for sharing JB - definitely an impressive first release for Wheat State Cutlery. That burlwood is nice - love that handle material on my Finch Roadrunner and 1934. The packaging seems great - a branded leather slip to carry the knife would be a welcome addition (that zippered case I’m guessing would be a little too large for carrying the knife in the pocket?). Love Finch and look forward to what may be coming out in 2025 (I miss the Upcoming Releases/Prototype section on their website).

IMHO you are doing it right not judging them all on 2 knives. And yes, natural materials do respond differently to moisture. There may be some small issues with a few, but don't condemn the company because of a few.
