Best case I've ever owned. Excellent for city commuting and long travel. Larger cushion at the back make it more comfy for passenger.

Thanks for another solid review, Ian. Your new production setup is really professional grade! Much like you, I prefer soft luggage for side bags and hard luggage for top cases. Top cases generally don’t get boogered in a drop and they are much more secure than a soft bag when left on the bike. For my old DR650, I just rigged a Northern Tool Pelican case knockoff for a grand total of $50. It’s served me well for years, but the convenience of an easily removable hardcase designed expressly for motorcycles is tough to beat. For my new Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro I went with the SW-Motech Dusc case, with this Lone Rider case a close second. The SW-Motech case is lighter and less expensive, but otherwise similar in size and function. Still waiting on the darn thing, though. It’s shipping from Deutschland because they’re out of stock in the US.

I prefer top cases because it leaves the bike narrow for lane splitting. I have seen some bikes with panniers that are well over 4 feet wide. If you commute, a top case is indispensable.

$800 for a top case is wild. Making the molle panels plastic is a little insulting at that price. Especially since they'll become brittle and unreliable when exposed to the sun long term. I like the innovative features like the molle and friction hinge, but they lost me on cheaping out on components and pricing it $300 more than a comparable Givi

Took the panels off mine, don't really need them. I just needed more room than the BMW top case. Being able to move the case back to give the passenger more room was a huge selling point.

Nice review Ian. I went with the Givi for my last of the line 1250 GSA. Totally agree with top case vs panniers. I did a trip to the Nurburgring with an Oxford aqua roll bag behind me and the top box. All you need for a 3 day trip. Looking forward to your GSA video.

Thanks, Ian. Great job. Did you run into any issues the first time you mounted the case onto the rack locator pins? I.e., quite difficult to pull the case forward to cinch the pins into the slots?

I just drilled and bolted the harbor freight Apache 4800 case to the back of my KLR, was less than 50 bucks total and it works perfectly I've never had any problem. Don't be a sucker and get ripped off by these companies with their ridiculous prices.

Thanks Ian , great review..I have a 42L on my 2024 1250 GSA. Love it ! Expensive , but still cheaper and so much better than the BM equivalent. The only problem is my riding mates sneak their stuff in there because they've run out of room.. So if you get one keep it locked. Lot of negative comments here. I would say don't knock it until you've tried it. On the styling front, yea it’s utilitarian but so is the whole bloody bike, so who cares ? not me !

What's the capacity of each of the two cases? What's the weight capacity, and the total weight? Is it painted? Do they offer a natural aluminium finish? Has it a carrying handle?

Good vid Ian. I use a soft bag on back of my BMW and it is handy a s a pocket on a shirt. If I did vids off my bike I would have to have something like this mainly for protection of may equipment and easy access. Plus security. Now the big question people always ask is will it hold a full face helmet. I carry mine or lock it on thee bike. Never more than a few feet away. I'd like one very similar but three or so inches lower. I use a Pelican case to transport camera gear now. Made to fit my equipment. All good from east KY USA. Have fun in the east CA desert. Be safe and have a happy holiday.

LR says a full face helmet will fit. The larger model came on my bike and it is supposed to hold two full face helmets. I do know the larger one will hold my full face helmet and my Klim riding jacket.

You didn't mention the price, but looking at the comments, it seems way too pricey. The aluminium Givi is about half the price, and is an excellent box.

Ian, thanks for your video very informative. However, I use my top case to put my helmet in, do you know if a full face helmet will fit in the smaller case? Lastly, will two helmets fit in the larger case?

PLEASE stop promoting overpriced items. Not everyone can buy a $30,000 BMW GS with $900 lights and $1,500+ suitcases. There are very few people who can afford this. Advertise for the normal person with an average salary. I say this with all the respect for your great video's.

I bought a canvas LV bag with my first bonus and within 2 years the purse was cracked/broken in multiple places and the store refused to repair or replace it. I don't know what resale value this crap has. I ended up donating it... well maybe I could buy a fake LV from kislux but these designers/robber barons don't even think about taking a dime from me. This one satisfies my fantasy of many authentic products and I can afford to buy them.

My Lone Rider experience isn't great, I purchased the 6L mini bags one arrived broken, I also have the Moto tent which leaked. To be clear, they quickly and easily fixed my issues, their customer service is excellent, however I've purchased from Lone Rider twice and I've had to claim under their warranty twice. So I personally won't be buying anything from them in the future.

That’s a heavy piece of trash. I would never recommend these due to weight. Better options out there. You’re basically buying it for the marketing hype. I can’t support a company when they focus more on marketing and giving free stuff out to influencers to hype a product. They look no different than the Asian market topcases you see in AliExpress Great review. My shad boxes perform better than those and weigh less. Those lone rider cases weigh more than some metal cases. Think about that for a moment

I got the big one for my small GS. It kind of is a little on the heavy side and replaces my Vario. My bike is now much better balanced than before. Quite unbelievable but true, just love it!

nice and pointless. You don't wanna hang much stuff on tail of your bike. So racks on topcase looks cool and practical but after first impression i say,...nah. As a regular top case too expensive.

Dude, it does not matter which topcase is the best because they are ALWAYS wrong! 😂 I like your channel a lot, Ian, but this video is pointless. Lone Rider is not for me in general. P.S.: The moment I would install a topcase, would be the moment I would stop riding bikes. 😂
