@BigRockMoto Great review. If you would need a bike for a 50 / 50 application and you would only have 2 alternatives…. Would you go for the BMW 900 GS or the 2023 KTM 890 R ? I do own a R1250 GSA for traveling and looking for something that is more off road capable.

As a 2015 F800gs owner, is there any chance you can go more in depth or do an actual comparison between the old and new? As I am still finding hard to find a solid reason to upgrade my F800gs.

In another video you mention you can’t keep a bike for too long given the nature of your business. That begs a question I bet many of us would love to know: if you weren’t in that position and owned just one bike right now (like so many of us average joes) what bike would that be? Yes, only one bike - it’s a hypothetical question. That should be a video with the reveal at the end.

To answer your opening question about what bike I’d buy in this price range… (assuming we ever get it here in the U.S) the Yamaha T7 World Raid.

Was considering ktm, but not now Neutering the bike for profit is not something I would put my money towards.

Havent's watched completely through, but forged rims? Did that choice fall under the timing / delay issues? Loving the long term detail breakdown of the pro's/con's.

Everybody talks about autonomy, but that’s not the point. The point is about how long it takes to charge the battery. I could live with a 30 miles autonomy as long as I can charge at every gas station and if it would charge within 3 minutes... but the reality it’s far from that. So no thank you! 😉

Also you can always crouch down and bend your elbows and get into an attack position if your bars a bit high, but if your bars are a bit low then you can NEVER NOT be attacking and on an ADV you don't always need to attack...

Great review!! Nice bike, at 14K Hell Yes, but at 18+K ummmm. May as well get the KTM 890 R and pray you don't have Gremlins... Also, you very much did rant about the risers... :) At my height I need them, actually need forward offset risers and then sometimes need to lower the bars because it ends up too high.

I think in fact, the ktm its a REAL adventure bike. Big trails are more for "excursions". No cruise control for a real "adventurer"

My 955i had the buzz. I changed my bar end weights out for some Ni-Alum-Bronze weights I made. Worked just as well, but it was definitely a more weighty fix.

I sat on one of these at my local Triumph dealer in Newcastle in the north east of England. The ergonomics felt amazing for me and I'm 6'1'' and it felt very familiar. Great review as always, Ian!

Great review...I like the look of the bike, seems sufficiently capable, however, Experience has taught me I just don't enjoy riding a 500lb bike off road.

Where do you get the Double Take Adventure Mirrors? Do you get credit for it? Same as Machine Art Moto, but didn't see it listed in your accessories.

Going to look at a 2024 501s today. Anyone know what the weight limit is for the new subframe? Im wanting to do my own ADV build on the bike and I need to be able to safely haul about 30-35lbs of gear. This includes tools, fuel and camping gear.

Now a Goldwing is not a sport touring bike IMHO it is heavy and only good for long stretches on highway if you ask me, I live in Copenhagen Denmark so back roads and dirt is non existing, I would have to go to Sweden for that and the longest highway stretch from one end of Denmark to the other is like 300 miles so I do not need a goldwing, for long hollydays around in Europe it might be nice, but I am not buying one only for that purpose, beside I love the look of a sports bike and I really don`t like the ADV look (each to their own) so it is a no brainer for me, a GSF 650F as I have now is perfect, if I want to upgrade I am think of just getting the 1250 version or a Honda VFR 800 though as gas is getting expensive and there are more and more speed cameras, I am thinking of down grading to a 500cc bike maybe, as 90% of my evry day riding is under 50 miles anyway.

$15k-$20k for a new bike? I’d go 2024 base Africa Twin w/DCT. I’ve owned and ridden lots of bikes, and IMO the DCT is just more fun. Some hate DCT, and that’s okay.
