Im glad you loved the box Kate! The christmas exchange was so much fun. Hopefully you can get a few more of those rocks properly identified. I labeled them to the best of my ability but may have gotten 1 or 2 wrong. If anyone in the comments can help, let us know!

KatyDid ROCKS! Interesting box of rocks & some slabs. When I was learning to cut-polish stones in the early 1960's, none of this (videos) existed; this would be for sometime in the distant future. Your box of rocks are very interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Katy…you rock my world. Caleb rocks with those amazing pieces. I have such a strong passion for collecting rocks and these blow my mind. I have lapidary tools that have been collecting dust, but you have inspired me to get back into it again. ❤ the poppy jasper, I live close to Morgan Hill and I go hiking in the creeks in search of fabulous finds. you must be in heaven with this haul. Wow! Nice box of goodie’s! Only rock I got for Christmas was a lump of coal. The (7:00) “I’m not sure what it is, it’s greenish blue and pretty…” looks like (a guess but maybe not a wild one) something I’ve had in the past. Called Gary Green/from Oregon . People call it all kinds of things, from jasper to even pet wood, but I think it is some kind of sediment/silicate mudstone type formation. Will polish if it has some hardness/shine to begin with. Yours seems to (if that’s what it is?🤔)
@KatyDidRocks2 күн бұрын
I need to do some tests on the green one, but it's pretty, regardless.
