Great cathedral and cheese tour. Parma seems interesting.

Thanks, the fresco in the Parma cathedral was jaw dropping as you can see at 3:52 And, of course the cheese is one of-a-kind in Parma.

Great video! We're planning a trip to this part of Italy and this video was very helpful. We didn't know about the puppet museum so thanks for sharing your experience there.

Thanks, that means a lot to us. Parma was a surprise in every way, we discovered the puppet museum while walking to the Parma Duomo. And, the bike and cheese tour was epic. All in all, this town is highly underrated in Italy. Our next video will be in an overlooked town in Tuscany.

There were no ceiling lights when he painted that.

This blew us away, just breathtaking. The sheer beauty of this fresco by Correggio was unexpected, and entrance to the church was free. Sometimes parts of Italy feel like a living museum.

At the time of the painting there was no good way to see the ceiling and the art work. It has been said that the artists gave 100% effort even though they knew it was hard to admire the work from below. They were pious men that assumed God was looking. How high is the ceiling?
@BigSmallTravel Жыл бұрын
Yes, the effort to make this painting a reality is incredible to think of with the limitations of the past. Correggio wanted to visualize key religious doctrines to celebrate Parma's return to the Papal States. It is stunning in person and shows one of the greatest illusionistic frescoes of the Renaissance. Check out this article about it: www.atlasobscura.com/places/parma-cathedral-duomo-di-parma We went two times to the cathedral to check it out in our short stay in Parma. @@julian65886
