i had NO idea that Bigtop Burger was mostly 3D.. Looking at some of those dynamic shots, i thought it was 90% 2D and some shots in 3D for ease

yeah that kinda blew my mind as well it makes sense that would be a lot of redrawing every frame for one guy-- but I think it makes for a more cohesive style- and makes it really possible for one person to do most of the animation

"Go draw your OCs, show them to the world, and do what you love. And an audience should be there to support you along the way" This right here. That's my MO with my content. Just making things that feel interesting for the time being, and just throwing my OCs into things for kicks. I was never into it for an audience, but having people who follow me is still pretty cool.

I really love BTB, it became one of my inspirations for my own art! But what I love the most is that it went from "Haha so random lol!" to "FULL LORE EXPERIENCE" SUPER QUICKLY, I really love when series do that! (Also BTB is the only show that gives CATS a good reputation, think about it)

I love how the music for the show hinted at the lore without giving it away. If you looked into the lyrics when the songs came out on his other channel it gave the impression that something may happen soon but not explicitly what. Even without the Bigtop Burger lore behind it, the songs still stand stong on their own lyrics-wise, so it wasn't nessasarily going to be about something in the show. It was really cool to expierence that side of things.
@Goatythemeow Жыл бұрын
as a blender user myself, worthikids has been a HUGE inspiration to me. i had never seen anyone use its 2d and 3d tool together in the way he does, and it looks just like a 2D animation. truly amazing what this guy has done all by himself

I love whipping out Worthikids to anyone new I meet who has even the slightest interest in indie animation/comedic art, because he is so SO funny and also his music is full of certified bangers. Also I have never seen anyone use Blender is quite the same way. A real inspiration!

Every time I remember Worthikids exists, I go to watch just a couple of his shorts and end up watching through his entire channel again. Its just good quality laughs that wont get tired after the first time you see it, and bite sized enough you could go for another... and another... and another... I love his stuff, and I can't wait to see where Big Top Burger goes. My favorite of his might have to be Captain Yajima though, it just feels so legit and fleshed out! It feels like you could've dug it up out of a box in your attic and decided to give it a watch for old times sake, but its completely new and you've never seen it before. The video for "Dried Up Old Bones" is also addictive. Best possible accompanying animation for the vibes of that song.

After watching all of it (for the first time) recently, all his output, not just big top. Two things really did the jaw drop. The story conveyed entirely through facial expressions in Wire, especially "the plan" where they capture a vamp, "execute" him by no-parachute. The pressure and relief displayed on the "Leader"'s face is... 😙🤌 Second is the absolutely bananas quality of the CG in Yajima. Like, you lot that in front of ANYONE and they will say plasticine stop motion. Except it's in blender. That is brain bending

For those of you trawling through New, it's also worth mentioning that even a good mic is optional to start. Chris Fleming as Chesare peaking his mic every other sentence is a hilarious gag. If there is a flaw and you lean into it just right, now it's a bit.

I think an example of an indie animation series getting too big and falling apart is confinement. Once he started to make bigger episodes with more people working on them it took ages to make them and eventually the other people influenced his work to the point that I don't think it was his by the end
@EBThisThat Жыл бұрын
As someone who wants to animate and do stop motion herself, I find Worthikids inspirational. Plus you can definitely see the influences and the love, care and passion he packs into his work. I've loved his style as well, Michael Cusaks' Smiling Friends, OddOne'sOut, My Pride, Tamberlaine, Lackadaisy, Monkey Wrench and a few others that slip my mind at the moment. Another artist I enjoy is Andymation. He was the first animator I became a fan of, plus like Steve, his 'how tos' are very informative, practical and useful.

As someone who loves German Expressionist silent films, the "Bigtop Burger" to "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" pipeline is the funniest thing I've ever witnessed among fans. I've seen people really obsessed with this modern web show, find out that the Zomburger crew is based on characters from a 103-year-old movie, and then get obsessed with a completely different piece of media from over a century ago.
