Can't get much better than that tillage duo. Looks like a great seed bed for their wheat crop. Always enjoy hearing from the operator as well!!

I know I have said this before, but I really enjoy hearing the farmer/operator talk about the equipment. I know that is a wide heavy tool to pull, but I have to admit I to hear that the 640 was maxed out with it.

Very cool. I have not found a 9R 640 to film yet. The largest wheeled 9R gen 3 I have filmed is a 9R 490. For gen 2 I got see lots of 9620Rs. In my area the 9RX has taken over on sales.

I have a 43'6" 2660 VT I pull with my 9470R. Works great for sizing the corn stalks, and leveling up the ground with very little soil movement. Use it on no till HEL land that erodes too much for a regular disc. Air seed 15" soybeans right behind it with a JD N542 seeder.

are those 40 inch tracks? impressive setup
@bigtractorpower3 күн бұрын
They are 36 inch. 30 inch are standard. The 120 inch width is optional. The wide 120 inch stance gives the tractor a bigger appearance.

sure was a lot of volunteer corn in the field in my opinion.
@bigtractorpower5 күн бұрын
This corn was harvested around August 20 and the field was worked under October 5. Most combines are going to lose a bushel and a half up to 2 bushels. The header loss and the thrashing loss show up here in Kentucky because it has plenty of time and warm weather to grow, but you’re gonna see this type of loss anywhere Combine is harvesting.

That is not a vertical tillage tool. That is what is referred to as a hybrid tillage tool. Once you have blade concavity or gang angle it goes from VT to HT.

Any of your big farms in Kentucky you film at order the bigger 9RX models yet?
@bigtractorpower4 күн бұрын
Yes but from what I was told they will not be here until April which is after corn planting. Hopefully during wheat harvest I can catch one on an air drill seeding double crop beans in June.
@stuartmassengale39554 күн бұрын
@bigtractorpower would Garnett or T.O.F be a candidate?
@bigtractorpower4 күн бұрын
@ this 640 is TOF’s . They are interested in 710s but only 5 big 9RX ‘s were available for the area for 2025. They told me in June those 5 were spoken for so it would be 2026 before more would available. I would expect Garnetts will go bigger not sure it will be 2025.
@stuartmassengale39554 күн бұрын
@bigtractorpower keep us updated. I'm hoping to catch one in our area this next year. I know one of our local dealerships ordered a 770 but will probably be November before it shows up. I'm hoping to have a demo in the area before that.

Noticing the "greenage" that looks like volunteer corn. Anyone else see that? If so lotsa $$$ left in the field. Better watch settings OR go RED.
@bigtractorpower5 күн бұрын
Every corn field has loss. This field was harvested in August so the volunteer corn had plenty of time for this to sprout by October 5 when this was filmed. Most combines lose 1.5 to 2.0 bu per acre so matter how they are dialed in between header and threshing loss.
