Hi Jason! Another quality video from BTP! I love that AC 4W-305 still has its original engine. Those 6120T engines were very rare (only used in the 8550 and 4W-305) and there are virtually no replacement parts available today. If someone has a major engine blowout on these tractors its either scrap the whole rig or repower with a Cummins or Cat engine. I've never heard of the Rite tractor, is it a one-off or was an actual production unit? Thanks for the great video, keep them coming!

The 4w305 was such a huge improvement from the 8550, something I grew up on. If not only for it's cab design, in fact that was the biggest change. Same 12.1 liter twin turbo 6. Love them, and they are pretty rare. Allis had just got it right with these 4wds and the 8000 series tractors, right when a drought and terrible prices destroyed most small farms
@bigtractorpower2 жыл бұрын
The AC twin stack 4wds are stand outs. It is unfortunate that AC never got the chance to show what the 4W and 8000 tractors could do.

Great video BTP! Loved watching this with my young son. Grew up on a produce farm in the 1970's. We actually owned 2 of these tractors, one of the big Masseys and the White, but with the non turbo charged version 3208 Cat engine. The 150hp White was the absolute dream plowing machine pulling 6 18" bottoms while running the wheels in the furrow and just ripping at 5 to 6 mph. What a joy! The move up to plow with the Massey and 12 bottoms, so while faster, made operation miserable. Take the wheel out of the furrow and add another 20 yards to turn around at each end what used to be fun turns into a real chore. Too many shorter fields and a tractor that size has no business being on your farm!

The biggest 4wd tractor I've seen in person wasn't from the 80's per say, as I've only seen a John Deere 9R series 4wd tractor, so not really from the 80's, but still. I do want to see a 4wd tractor from that decade though, as it would be neat. We don't have many 4wd tractors here in Sweden, snd the ones we have is mostly imported through a third hand party. The only two brands that sell their 4wd tractors are currently John Deere and Case IH. There is also New Holland, but they only have one dealership in southern Sweden that even sell their 4wd tractors, and i happen to live not that far away from that NH dealership
