Thank you very much for posting this tutorial. I spent over an hour trying to figure this out. All the other tutorials I saw were made for the P1. My own fault but I had no idea there was a cover over some of the wiring at the top of the X1. I felt pretty dumb once I saw you pull that cover back. Super easy install after that. Only took seconds. ha ha.

It's my understanding that you shouldn't plug in both lights at the same time because it would exceed the 0.3A maximum rating of the port per Bambu.

They delayed the release of the Lux so they could fix that issue at least thats what the email they sent me said.

@@LestradeGames Can you post a copy of the email please. I have 2 of these on order and want to see what there official stance on this is. I have an email out to them on this subject, but haven't received a response back. There official website for this item says not to plug in both at the same time still (its towards the very bottom). Thanks for the video its very helpful and its the only one I have come across as of yet.
@Nell89088 ай бұрын
@LestradeGames they delayed and reduced the lux itself to .3A per request from bambu labs. Plugging the stock in is still not recommended. The official installation video on their channel also makes mention of this

@@Nell8908 well we shall see if I fry the board then so be it. So far I haven’t had an issue arise but everyone stick to the recommendation of Bambu and don’t follow what I am doing.

@LestradeGames I doubt it causes any issues. BTT probably had 0 issues during development, but Bambu is being extra cautious I assume

Thanks for the video by far clearer than the original instructions. I'm happy with the new lights that give a better view inside the printer.

Great video. I did have a observation and question. I recently got a new X1C (2 month ago), I recently received my Panda LUX. I noticed in the X1C the internal light connector seems to be “hot glued” to the board. Is it safe to break that seal? Has anyone else noticed the same?
@bigtophomestead2 ай бұрын
Yes the hot glue it for shipping. You can remove the glue pretty easy and dont need to worry about gluing it again.

@@bigtophomestead Thanks for that explanation, I'll move forward with my LUX install.
@jasrisjasnie72945 ай бұрын
installation on X1c was pretty straight forward. Connect the light to the bottom rail as shown in the video. The connector should be close to the circuitboard. watch the bambu wiki on how to remove the OE light bar. I broke the tab before checking out the wiki.

Have you had any issues with both hooked up since you made this video? I've had the Panda Lux for a couple months and just now hooked it up. I don't like it by itself. The light is too high up and not much brighter than the OE light bar. If both were on, I think it would be an improvement. But with only the Panda Lux it's a no go for me.
@bigtophomestead4 ай бұрын
I went down to one light just to see the difference and just have not gone back to two but I ran with both lights for a long while without issues but just know there is a small risk even though biqu did testing with both lights also with no issues its bambu that is warning of the issues that may arise.

Video is outdated? Can't hook BOTH lights to AP board without risk of frying it.
@bigtophomestead4 күн бұрын
There is a risk but a very low risk as BigTreeTech ran the lux and the built in light for months without issues. It was not until Bambu told them hey that might not be a great idea because of amp limitations on their board. So the way I see it is do it however you want but know that there is a risk.

I'm installing this LED as we speak and I'm wondering why not plug the panda right into the stock LED light socket and not use the junction board provided. Anybody see an issue with this? seems that it would be cleaner...
@bigtophomestead5 ай бұрын
@@markbaker1827 I thought the panda lux had a different connector than the stock light but I haven’t looked at it for a bit so if they are the same then I don’t see why you couldn’t just direct connect.

I have seen a BTT video where they mention the .3A situation, however they were fitting it to a P1 and not an X1 Carbon, I don't think BQ would give you a socket to plug in the original light and the Panda Lux if it were a problem. Does the Panda Lux come with instructions from BQ?
@bigtophomestead8 ай бұрын
So the official stance from BQ is not to have both lights plugged in as that would equal .6A however they stated in their long tests they did not have any issues with both lights plugged in. However the reason the jump board has slots for both lights is because it was not until after manufacturing that Bambu told them that .6A was too much as the original light bar itself was .6A or something along those lines. It seems to be a very confusing situation in terms of communication. Here is how I see it. If you want to "risk it" then plug in both if you want to follow the rules then just plug in the lux as it is plenty bright on its own and brighter than the standard light bar.
@aeonjoey3d8 ай бұрын
actually it is a problem and they only discovered it AFTER manufacturing these, they warn you on their website and in their official install video
