I maybe the strange one, but I prefer the standard frame vs the drop frame, the little cubbies on each side is perfect on the entry door side I keep all my ground tackle (leveling blocks and tools) there it’s super handy and always right where I left it, on the water side I keep all my water supplies (fittings, pressure gauge, sewer hose connections) in that cubbie area

I really like that floor plan. I like the fact that the living room area feels separate from the kitchen/dining area by that short wall for the bar/dinette table.

Great review and I really like this fifth wheel. I've had very good luck with Jayco products in the past and I've been sorry that I switched to another brand. That quality difference has been shocking. This unit is a little larger and heavier and although my F3t0 SRW could handle it I always leave a 2000lb safety margin (fully loaded truck and trailer) so it doesn't work for me. But it is beautiful. I love the Eagle line up and a Jayco TT is definitely in my future. Thanks JD for another job well done!

Thank you for the honest reviews. As a Jayco owner I would like to see a couple inverter outlets in the kitchen, currently there is none in my 2022 28.5. Flow is great but my wife and I would trade today if the fridge and stove swapped spots. There may have been a reason for the placement. Keep hounding everybody on the pin weight and tow rating. We travel often and see overloaded pick ups all over the country.

Nice floor plan. For 100k msrp it should come with more standard features, in my opinion, such as drop frame, larger I-beam frame, better pin box, etc. I feel like there’s a lot of trailers out there with more value for less money.

So true, and the jayco build quality is horrendous now. Trim pieces always missing , outlets wired wrong or not at all. Jayco has definitely lost its edge.

I love this travel trailer, it’s beautiful. Only one negative comment to say, one would think that for the MSRP being over a hundred grand they would have put a outside sink that was plumped. Otherwise it’s a great trailer inside and out.

I really appreciate your great reviews and detailed information of weight capacity and towing. An additional specification detail that would be equally as helpful is mentioning tank capacities of water and holding tanks when doing your reviews. I'm always amazed how similar manufacturers floorplans have such wide variation in holding tank capacity, which is vital for those than Boondock.

Very nice unit. Not a fan of the under cabinet 120vac receptacles though. We had short cord issues with one of our rigs. Example, our present toaster has a power cord 20 inches long. Not a problem if the top of the counter is less than 20" from the receptacle. I'd rather have them in the wall.

I feel when someone buys the fifth wheel, who knows how to do upholstery could come up with some type of padding to put on the bench at the kitchen table to provide some sort of padding for comfort.

We just bought this unit and are eager to pick it up. We also just purchased a Ram 2500 w/Turbo Engine, it should haul up to 20,000lbs….so just for confirmation, we shouldn’t have any issues hauling with that type of truck for this unit, correct?😮

It depends on your trucks GVWR rating and payload capacity. I have a ‘18 Mega Cummins and my GVWR is 15,500 but my payload is 2200Lbs. So you need to pay attention to Pin weight

What caught my attention is the name Eagle. I recently visited Corpus Christi and there's another Eagle there. The F15 Eagle from the first Top gun movie is on the deck of the Lexington. Corpus Christi/Padre island 🏝️ definitely worth a visit. 2 or 3 days free camping on the beach.

I've never liked the common 5th wheel floorplan where the kitchen and living room is one space. Thats why ive always liked front livingroom or front kitchen floorplans. But with the dinette acting as a separator, it feels like two spaces

I agree with rbandit76. Too much money and not enough…….. I like the trailer minus the above mentioned. New 3/4 ton diesels would fit those specs, right up to the limit. I understand your hesitation for too close for comfort for the majority who do not pay attention to details. Thanks again for your excellent presentations. I think that turning the dinette sideways and putting a slide out for the dinette/outside kitchen would have made this unit perfect. If weight was an issue, they could get rid of one of the slide outs and couches in the rear den. The bathroom vanity color is terrible IMO.

If anyone is wondering about a truck I have a 2022 F 350 4x4 diesel, single wheel, crew cab, 6 3/4 ft bed, 3.55 rear end, and 11 500 GVW. the payload is 3836 lbs. So it could tow it.

What’s your opinion on GAS 3/4 ton trucks? I apologize I don’t watch enough videos now to remember much besides the reality that half ton trucks should NOT tow 5th wheels. I’m wanting to get back into camping sometime in the future. My family had an 06 F250 5.4 extended cab-standard size bed. (For readers, I know “the 5.4 was awful”. We owned it 10 years and 40k miles we loved it) of course it had the camper package on it and 3.73 gears. Our biggest fifth wheel was 34/35 foot and weighed about 9000lbs give or take. It drove well, could get up hills and did great on highways. I know everyone believes in diesels like magic. I could care less about the price of diesel it’s just the $10K+ to get the diesel option. I work with guys who have diesels and only tow a bass boat/side by side atv:/ if I were to order my own F250 today I’d want a Lariat/extended cab/standard bed and most likely the 6.2L. Would that suffice for a 5th wheel like this one in the video? Thanks in advance!

It really depends on your needs, if you're towing occasionally and nothing too heavy, and using it more to get around town, then a gasser is more than adequate. The big drawback to towing with a gas engine vs. Diesel is that fuel economy is the pits as the engine requires more fuel to generate the necessary power to move that load. The other upshot is that gas engines don't require the same maintenance that large diesels do, especially emissions related. Diesels shine when they're under heavy loads, you'll go farther on a tank of diesel than gas if you're pulling heavy trailers, or even moderate weights over long distances. The downside to diesels (other than the entry cost), is that they also require more specialized maintenance compared to gas engines. Oil changes may not be as frequent compared to gas engines, but you also need to keep an eye on your def fluid levels, DPF system, fuel systems, etc. But, most diesel engines will also probably outlast the life of the vehicle if taken care of properly and not abused too much.

I believe with heavy duty trucks of today, the Gas engines have come a very long way. I’ve heard many great things about Fords 7.3L gas engine which is only $1500-$2000 upgrade from the 6.2L. One thing I might suggest (because I just went through this experience) is as your dealership to give you a price difference between 3/4 ton and 1 ton SRW. I walked into my local dodge dealership with full intentions on ordering a Ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi and 4.10 gears. (I tow a 37’ bumper pull travel trailer with a GVWR of ~10,000lbs) once I completed the build, I asked the salesman to build the identical truck, but as a 3500 single rear wheel and it was only $400 more. I was expecting a couple thousand but an extra $400 gave me about a thousand pound extra of payload. With my 3500 I now have 4000lbs of payload and 17,000lbs towing with the gas engine. Diesels certainly have their place, but todays Gas heavy duty trucks are still very capable. Best of luck in your truck shopping

I tow a 2020 30’ Cougar 5th wheel with a 2022 F250 with 7.3 and 4.30 gears. The trailer grosses at 10K and we use every bit of that GW on long trips. The true test of towing is the Rockies. The truck shines on 10,000’+ passes, up and down. The 10 speed tranny is the best attribute of the truck. The ratios are close so I can keep the revs where I want them. I’d say it tows as good as an ‘04 6.0 diesel that I owned and a lot better than a prior 6.2/6 speed F250. With the rather small 34 gallon gas tank, I use a 50 gallon transfer tank in the bed that allows me to refill the truck at any rest area or other stops. This is helpful because refilling a gas truck/trailer combo can be a PITA at some stations because we’re out front with the cars.
