My family was a GM family. My father and stepmom both retired from GM, but we am not all that loyal anymore. Having said that, the comfort of ride can be a deciding factor for us. That is because we often drive 8 hrs or more at a time. I am in my 60's and currently own a Toyota but, after driving a few hours, I ache. I'm not getting old and soft, I'm getting old a stiff.

Again, a very good informative video. I like your style a lot. Now here is something I would like you to consider for a future series, How about a work truck review. The basic stripped down versions of the full sized Ford Ram and GM lines. There are a lot of people out there who would find that information very useful. Since I am one who prefers the simpler things in life, that is what I will be looking for, a basic bare bones 3/4 ton 4x4. Many contractors are looking for the same things to add to their fleets.

I wouldn't come close to saying they are miserable. Just not as comfortable as the GMC Denali's. Kind of like comparing a BMW seat to a LEXUS seat. Both are great, but Lexus clearly wins in comfort.

K.C.'s RC Oh hell naw, EVERY maker has trucks that are ridiculously expensive. If you want all the geegaws and gadgets and you have the money, good for you. HOWEVER comma all that added stuff is pushing the price of ALL trucks up. The dealers order more of these “optioned up” trucks because their margins are so much larger. There are fewer “economical” trucks and they sell out first, leaving a lot full of “Cadillac” pick ups to choose from.
@mechanicsteve23207 жыл бұрын
I think when choosing a truck you must consider is this really going to be a work truck or my family vehicle. Is it mostly going to be used for getting groceries, hauling family and pulling a camper a couple of times a year? A lot to consider. As a mechanic my suggestion no matter which car manufactory If your planning to get a work truck get roll up windows and a key ignition. Get vinyl seats and a rubber mat floor. If you try to go the luxury route in ten years your going to have seats ripped all to pieces, carpet stained beyond belief, a damn keybob that longer works and more then likely at least one electric window that doesn't role up or down anymore. Almost forgot a push button start that may or may not work depending on the day of the week.

I really don't know what GM was thinking when they placed those DEF tanks.. I'd father it be behind or under the rear seat than hanging down to get ripped off on something.. Heck, they could have made it longer and thinner, so it would go up between the frame and side steps, without hanging down.. Or did like Dodge and Ford did their's..

I think there are some drawbacks for the consumer from the power wars. The amount of power that these trucks are producing is only a benefit for a small percentage of truck consumers yet the majority of consumers have to swallow the cost for power they don't need or buy a gas engine. I think most people buying a 3/4 ton truck would be fine the power levels of a few years ago if it meant a less expensive and more fuel efficient truck.

I have a 2015 2500 and love it. I have driven a GMC since 1995 a Durmax since 2005 in total 9 separate pickups including a 3500 Dually, absolutely no complaints about them. That being said I purchased a Platinum 2017 450 to pull our toy hauler and other than being underwhelmed with the power I like it. I will be getting a 350 SRW Limited in a month and getting rid of my 2015 Denali. My biggest gripe about Ford is they do not offer the ability to start your vehicle from anywhere with your phone on the SD line. I have voiced my thoughts with no avail to anyone with two ears and a connection of any kind with Ford. If you could help in anyway getting this feature available from Ford from the factory I’d appreciate it. I’m aware and in the process of getting an aftermarket system with this capability.

@Mrgluck-ho6th4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the trim package. I own a 2017 Chevy 2500 HD LTZ W/Duramax and the interior is identical to the GMC SLT, with different badging being the only difference. I've' had multiple back surgeries so having adjustable buckets was a must have, the Chevy 2500 HD LT has a 40/60 split bench with a flip down armrest, identical to the GMC SLE. The Chevy High Country has an identical interior to the GMC Denali. I bought my Chevy new so I got the LTZ model, I just couldn't stomach paying an additional 12k for the GMC version, while the Chevy has the same everything except the grill, & front end. Although I think the GMC is a better looking truck.

Number two the losses from government dumping your stocks creating another loss of 11 billion dollars to taxpayers is sickening. Number three the government giving you a 45 billion dollar tax credit so you pay little or no taxes while surviving on tax payer dollars its pathetic. Number four continuing to be subsidized with billions of taxpayers dollars years later it beyond belief . Congratulations your in the top five taxpayer subsidized companies in America list. Why not make a commercial telling everyone how you GM managed to get away with one of the largest taxpayer heists in America history?

Give me a key any day over pushbutton start. Same for shifter verses push button shift. In an emergency like say a throttle sticking. Kiss your ass good by if you can't simply turn a key or shift it to neutral. Example an electrical issue. Ignition don't work to power down throw it in neutral. I was a mechanic most my life. Imagine turning off the engine if there's a problem or bumping the key.

You need to invest in better equipment. At 59,000 subscribers there is no excuse for 720p and poor audio quality.

Kadin McDermott I’m not a huge fan of Ram trucks, but I will say that they have the best interiors, from comfort to materials to the infotainment system, they have really nice interiors. Definitely the best in the game.

What is the deal with the push button start? Why is it something that everyone seems to thin it is the thing to have? Are people becoming that lazy that they cannot put a key in the ignition and turn it? Sorry but I am old school 1979 Chev custom deluxe guy here. That truck with the 4 speed and horrible brakes, you have to drive it, not just guide it down the road. The creature comforts are all cool and everything, but a landscaping crew or a concrete pumping crew will destroy the interior of one of these new trucks in less than a year. They are not built for the working class, they are build for the lazy Americans who think they are entitled to everything. I am a hard working American guy and I am sick of the Auto manufacturers catering to the lazy Americans. Give me roll up windows, give me a manual transmission, No cruise control, manually operated seats, manual 4x4 shifting, manual hubs, a spray in floor covering, no radio, no rear view camera, no silly indicators, and only add big mirrors. This is a truck that the farmers, contractors, landscapers, delivery, and countless other trades need in a truck. By not having all that electronic garbage, and having everything be manual would significantly reduce the cost of a truck. Who the hell wants to spend $50,000+ on a farm truck that is going to have the crap beat out of on the first day. Here the manufacturers are truly narrow sighted, thanks to lazy Americans.

1JawsJr: Nothing to do with laziness as both actions are about the same effort. More to do with the chance of losing keys as well as wear and tear on the ignition

Yeah they still make trucks for people like you. They're called w/ t Chevy or Tradesman Ram

1JawsJr : I think the push button system weighs less than the key system. Everything is about weight. That's why no spare ties anymore in cars.
