This reminds me of when we took the ferry from Haines to Skagway in 2015 with our 40’ motorhome and Jeep. We were told to arrive unhooked. Wife loaded the Jeep, I loaded to MH, hard right parked alongside a wall, parked and couldn’t get out the door, had to crank up, twist the steer wheels to the left to shift front end over a few inches to get out. Drove out the other side in Skagway up steep ramp, but they watched my butt end and was ready to put boards under it needed. They do am amazing job loading and unloading vehicles on the Alaska ferries. Enjoying your adventures.

If you Ever go to Finland and or Sweden they have Huge Ferry boats that's like a cruise. These boats take on entire trains, tons of cars, trucks etc. Also a lot of cabins you can book. They have 8 to 12 hour travel between two countries or ride between further points. These Ferry Ships have all kinds of restaurants, smorgasbords, stores etc. There is also another ship no cars that you can book, takes you on a 24 cruise, that ship has like 25 restaurants, buffets, bars, dancing etc, also casinos and stores.

OK I have went and done it and it is your fault. I just finished watching ALL of your videos. I like to watch videos of peoples travels to Alaska to visually relive the three RV trips I made. I ran across your Alaska videos about half way through your trip and I was hooked on watching them. After your Alaska videos, I started watching them from the first one you posted. Love them. You had it easy getting on. My truck and fifth wheel measured 59'. Myself and another guy in a fifth wheel, 63', had to back down the ramp and swing the tail hard to the right into our parking spot. The people directing us did a great job. We only went from Haines to Skagway but it was the same parking circus. Looking forward to more of you videos.

@brianvanderbunt742328 күн бұрын
I know this is an old video, but I wanted to post in case someone who is going to book an AMHS ferry might see it. You could have saved money on the ferry tickets by booking the camper and Jeep separate. For every foot over 21' AMHS charges a big markup. So, you paid the extra markup for the length of your RV over 21', plus the length of the tow bars, plus the length of the Jeep. Since there were two of you, you could have booked the RV and Jeep separate with a driver for each one and paid less of a markup. You wouldn't have been charged at all for the two bars, only the standard rate for the length of the Jeep, and only the markup for the length of the RV over 21'.
@bigtruckbigtravels27 күн бұрын
Very true. In this case, we booked together to insure we'd fit. They said it was very full which it was. But that's good advice.

9:07 quite the puzzle indeed. Not only do they need to figure out how to load everyone efficiently, but in a manner to get them off along the way, because not everyone is going to the same place, some get off at Juneau, Petersburg, Wrangell, etc, and they want to minimize unnecessary unloading and reloading.

Lol...I guess if you think this is drama then you obviously don't watch ANY other channel. We're just having fun and injecting a little humor into the situation. Drama would have been if we made a HUGE deal about it and ranted about how dangerous it was to be on the ramp... it's our RV travel life and this is what happened to us. Next weeks video will show the resolution in the first minute or so but this was us having fun. Sorry you don't have the same sense of humor. Have a great life. Aloha

that wasn't nice to show the RV getting stuck in the begginning and not showing it in the video. ☹☹

Sorry. I was originally going to get us on Wrangell but I got to that clip while editing... and it just felt like a really good ending... also just having a little fun with it. Hope you're ok... see you next week?

You guys are naughty leaving us hanging till next week. Could you have stayed in the RV if you had wanted to?
@bigtruckbigtravels Жыл бұрын
Lol. Sorry about the "hang time", Adrian! Just having fun with it. No, they don't allow you to stay in the RV. They have certain times during the cruise that they open up the car deck (such as in port) but otherwise, it's closed. They do monitor it and would levy a fine for anyone who violates it.

@@bigtruckbigtravels No worries. I can wait till next week. I really hope you don't drag. We have all done it before and it isn't exciting. I have really been enjoying your Alaska adventure. 🙂

I know, Randy. I made an "appointment" the other day, it's back to a #3 now! 🤣

your content would be so much better if you were to use educational information where you are, what the area is known for, and cut out the.... anxiety attacks, moaning, vocal fillers
@bigtruckbigtravels Жыл бұрын
Lol...sorry Doc. It's our life on the road and that's what happens when you're with us. Sometimes we'll get educated, sometimes it's just beautiful scenery... but in ALL cases, you're along with us on this journey. And sometimes there is anxiety, chit chat and moaning/groaning.

Really…..the video ends at the point you reach the title? Clickbait.
@bigtruckbigtravels Жыл бұрын
Sorry... but don't even talk to me about Click bait... look at ALL the other channels out there which are nothing but drama and baiting. I show what's on the title, no photoshopping only real pics. Go to other channels and enjoy their thumbnails which are usually not real, nor related to the true content. This is how we travel, not manufactured for views on KZbin based on searches. Aloha

You guys leaving us in suspense you are just as bad as a tv series
