About the amazon returns, the thing with panels (especially IPS) is that people return them because they have too much (not acceptable) IPS glow/bleed. Keep that in mind.

Which is why i pick VA for these type of panels unless the IPS has FALD of some sort IPS within this range has low contrast , and backlight bleed so the 2 doesn't mix at all

Bought mine in January for work, gaming on watching content. I love it. 21:9 is a sweet spot. Colors are amazing. Stand sucks, but I put it on a wall mounted arm. Would recommend and buy again without hesitation.

You asked why min brightness is important, let me help: Min brightness is required because most of us do not use the monitor only during day time when the room is fully lit by the sun coming from the open window. most of us work in partially shadowed room or at evening when no light at all, maybe a small reading lamp at the side no more than that. and with those low light conditions we usually want between 40-60 cd m2 = 40-60 nits of monitor luminance. Now, if a monitor is some garbage marketing HDR that can do whopping 600 plus nits, and there for cannot do below 120 nits min, than this monitor is useless for us. 120 nits is over bright at dark rooms or at night usage. night usage and dark rooms need 40-60 nits in order not to blind the user.

Glad to see you review this. I was really consider getting this but my main issue is the only 1 year warranty and dead/bright pixel return policy. A lot of reviewers never mention stuff like this but for me they really factor into my decision making. For a high-end monitor like this I would expect a lot better. Dell (AW models) offers a much better 3 year warranty and a 0 bright pixel guarantee.

I share an office and sometimes I want to show the other person what I have on the screen right now to get the correct coloring they have to get up and move to be besides me or I have to move my moniter to angle it towards them and then re-aline it with my other moniter both ways are just inconvenient and with a wider viewing angle I won't have to worry about the colors not showing right

I got the Acer XR343CK P (the LG was not available in my country), both share the same panel/performance. So for anyone hunting this ultrawide, be on the lookout for this Acer. The same panel is on the Acer Predator X34GS too (and probably the upcoming Benq EX3415R), just be mindful that the predator is certified gsync compatible but has issues with AMD cards with freesync enabled. The XR343CK is freesync premium certified (not gsync certified), but I have no issues on my 2060 Super with gsync active.

Hi, thanks for the review althought this product is barely available even worlwide and much more expensive than what you said in video, $1.166 at Amazon right now and this unfortunately reduces it price/performance ratio. Secondly, I'd like to answer your question @12:50 as a computer programmer - software/web developer who is spending his 10-14 hours a day in front of a monitor. Well, it's called migraine. I don't speak for everyone, but here are 2 possible answers I have for your 2 questions: Q1 (12:48): Motivation to know minimum brightness. Ans: I actually have my monitor set to 0 brightness and sometimes it still strains my eyes if certain websites or programs do not have a dark mode for reading. So, for some people, that could be why they want to compare minimum brightness (it was good for me to know too, cause that makes me more keen to actually get this monitor). Q2 (17:17): Why would people want a monitor with great viewing angles. Ans: Not a personal experience, but I have a friend who can't afford a monitor arm nor does he have a sit-stand desk (basically he doesn't have an ergo setup) so the terrible viewing angles do become noticable for him. Then again, the monitor he got (with terrible viewing angles) did not have much tilt/height adjustment so it could be a combination of 2 things becoming an issue instead. So yeah, those are just some of the considerations that came to mind. Hopefully it helps.

Minimum brightness is really, really important for me. I have cluster headaches. And brightness can trigger headaches for me, especially abrupt changes in brightness. Since I’m mostly using my pc as a student these days, I really need low brightness and a reader mode to avoid migraines caused by light. Most of my work is done on Google docs and proprietary university websites, so no dark mode.

you are correct that monitors do not need wide viewing angles, because a monitor is always used when the user is directly in front of it. the viewing angel issue is relevant only for TV's where in the room there are multiple viewers, watching at the same time each from a different angle on the couch.

Nah, it's good to know all the specs of a monitor. And for certain types like VA or TN you get really ugly color shifts when moving slightly off center or looking at thing in distant corners of the screen.

So I did a ufo ghost test on my 1ms lg monitor and compared it to my old rog pg279q, the picture was noticeably less blurry compared to the asus monitor, even though the asus had an 165hz oc compared to the LPG’s 160hz. The lg won that handily

Just ordered one for 27% off on black Friday. Got the Samsung G7 but it's got a dead sub pixel. Shows red, blue, black but turns red on a white background and green background. It's not in an obvious spot but got the money it should be perfect.

I love the lg series with nano tech. Picture is vibrant and clear. I just got the mobius ex2510 for shooters and I use the 850-b for other. I'm considering sticking with the lg but the shooters might just be better on the smaller monitor.

Torn between this monitor or the VIOTEK GNV34DBE2 34-Inch. Both have similar specifications. However, the Viotek is $379, free shipping, and No tax shipped directly from Viotek. What makes me lean toward Viotek is their 3-year warranty and get this....They actually answered the phone on the 2nd ring. Try that with LG...nope....email only. I have an older VIOTEK 32 1080p and it's been rock solid. (monitor is for my 16 year old son) Any comments would be appreciatd.

Because it can be my main, even if i have to reduce de size of the window i am working. But when i am just watching a movie or playing a console exclusive, i can kick back and enjoy the larger size. As an oled, the black bars from the unused space wont bother that much. It not the perfect solution. I would love a 40-42” version... but for an all-purpose screen, i think it is an option worth considering

Yeah. It's ips glow. The only game I notice the glow in is witcher 3, due to typically darker color way the game uses. Cyberpunk looks just perfect though

Okay can someone help me out? I bought this monitor, and spend literal days playing with the settings and trying to tweak them because out of the box the panel is yellowish. I also own an ASUS vg34, same monitor specs except it’s a VA. The problem is I CANNOT get this monitor to look as good as that VA panel, I got very close but I wouldn’t say this nano IPS is miles ahead. So I’m confused by this video and it’s claims, but I’m further confused because this LG should be destroying my ASUS with a VA. Any insight from anyone who understands this?

I had the same issue. Easy fix for me was deleting the current driver my computer downloaded for my monitors “which wasn’t the lg’s driver” and downloaded the actual monitors driver off LG’s website and it fixed my yellow nasty hue right away. I’ve never had a monitors driver cause issues for me and thought they all worked on the same driver but with this lg panel it actually needs the lg driver. Hope this helps 💯

Amazon Warehouse, in my experience, is a gamble. I returned one item (blu-ray player), and it apparently dropped off the face of the Earth. They refused to refund, and I foolishly didn't chargeback on my card, so I was S.O.L. On the flip side, I returned a bike lock I ordered that didn't come with a key (i.e. a paperweight), and I had no problem in the return process. So experiences vary, but again, it's a gamble.

Had this monitor for a couple weeks. Made me upgrade to the Alienware AW3821DW. The LG is great though. Did everything as advertised, dimming was decent, blacks were good, colours were awesome. Didn't flex my 3090 enough though, and the stand not having a swivel ability is really.. awful. But hey if you have a 3070/3080 this monitor is a no-brainer. Amazon Canada has it now too for anyone this side of the border.

Man im reeally hoping i can get some feedback from you on this. I ordered this monitor and its on its way, but I'm also looking at the 38 inch version, and I'm wondering if the 360 euro upgrade is worth the money. I guess its a very personal thing aswell, its like 50 says go 34 and the other says go 38. I do find that my current 34 inch 1080p ultrawide fills my peripheral vision nicely. I have a 3080 so both shouldn't really be a problem, what do you think? it will be primarily used for media consumption, UX/UI Design and FPS gaming.

Agree, but IPS is IPS. Despite the low contrast though, it still does produce decent blacks and highlights. It's much better than the numbers lead to believe.

i got this monitor last week, but had to return the next day, had a bad unit, the screen was having a blinking problem even when not gaming, even unplugged the display cable from the pc and still would blink on the lost signal screen, so i assumed it was a screen issue, still waiting on my refund so i can buy it again an take a chance with it, so im back to using my benq 27' 1080p at 60hz monitor. all i can do is wait.

JUST GOT MINE! Looks like I have a panel winner with zero dead pixels and very minimal glow/bleed (some marginal brightness on the edges). I realize u can't overclock this thing and use 10 bit colour simultaneously. My question for you Bijan is: 160hz+8 bit or 144hz+10 bit?

Difference between 160Hz and 144Hz is so minimal that I'd choose 10bit even if I won't notice it on the daily. Plus, overclocking MIGHT kill the monitor prematurely. Not sure if it does.

This is not a true 10 bit panel, and few applications support 10 bit color. Go with 160Hz, you feel it immediately and higher refresh rate > lower refresh rate.

I had this monitor recently but it had a display port issue and too much back light bleed so I, returned it. Ended up getting a AW3821DW which was on sale... For $86 more! Bigger and so much better. You reviewed that monitor too but didn't review it as favorably?

Hold on.... So you're telling me... You got an AW3821DW for $886????!!! I'll be revisiting the AW3821DW when I review the 38GN950.

​@@BijanJamshidi Not exactly, I'm in Australia, so we get ripped off here, but the conversion from US is a little different too. I got it for $1,686 (already back to $2,248.99 as of this comment, just checked) I got the LG for $1,599.. I lied, I payed $1 more than I previously said!
