Thank you for the review of this monitor. I picked one up for work and it looks great on my not so great work computer video card .... until I used a display port cable. HDMI only gave me 3440 x 1440 at 50 hz. Once I installed the display port it went back up to 3440 X 1440 at 60hz (yeah I realize that I am not utilizing the higher refresh rate but that can come later when I may use this for gaming. As it is now it is great for viewing 2 spreadsheets side by side and helps my workflow.

How is the text clarity? I want an ultra wide for 8 hour+ work days but also gaming. I just got the Dell S3422DWG and immediately have eye strain. There's some sort of weird text blurring going on unless I put my face right up to the screen. It must be something to do with the VA panel on the Dell and slight shifting due to angles. Not sure but I can't keep this Dell.

It’s the stand from the LG 34WK95C-W. It got discontinued but I think some of the other lg ultra wides have it. I just randomly searched for it though and there was one listing on eBay for just the stand, so if you want it that bad you’ll probably be able to find one

Im leaning toward this or the 38 model. I'm not chasing graphics so I dont mind lower the graphics a little. It would be my first Ultrawide. So Im a little hesitant but I want that immersion.

I really wanted this Monitor and almost bought it but something in my back of my head told me to check again on KZbin. Then I saw your review.. Vert very detailed review with a lot of information. Nobody talking about how to monitor is lack with speakers and if its good for consoles. However, now i don't know what to do. I really need wanted curved monitor for my PC and PS5 and the black colors on the side will drive me crazy... Any recommendations?

I’m glad that I’ve been able to help a bit. Ultrawide is amazing on PC but yeah I agree having the black bars on it I’ve barely used my ps5 the past year with this and my last ultra wide. I think it comes down to how much you game on both and whether you’ll be doing work on the pc as well. You might be better off going with a 32” 1440p or 4K monitor instead

so i recently bought pro x and at first could hear directional sound but after a bit it does not work and i all ready tried to do everything to in the g hub thing but it doesn't work but when ever i use my head set on my friend pc it works perfectly i can hear were sounds are coming from if i can get help from you it would be greatly appreciated i hope you see this 🙏

In your Lian Li case on the lateral side, there are two 120 uni fans or 140? I don't know if on the lateral side there's enough room for 3 120 fans or is better put 2 140 uni fans.

Thanks for answer pal. My case is the Lian Li Snow White mini, right now I have two 120 uni fan on the top and 3 at the bottom. I'm using an air cooler so I want to put another 120 on the top and two 140 fans on the lateral were you have your AIO. It seems that two 140 fans fits perfectly on that place.

What is the benefit of having the lightbar on top of your monitor? It seems like it would just add a bunch of glare across the monitor?

No glare actually. I like it because it lights up the desk which helps because I often work / game at night

Correct, it makes no sense whatsoever, it just washes out the contrast and color from the monitor, it's also very, very bad for the monitor. It's crazy actually.

So if you plug this monitor into a PC using a standard HDMI cable you don’t get 160hz or do you need to use the display plug to get the max hz

Over HDMI at 1440 it should max at 144hz. You’ll need to overclock and then use DisplayPort to hit 160

Hey friend, looking for a new monitor as I like to game and I work from home. I'll have this on a KVM switch so I will be going from work to gaming all the time. I def want 1440p and 34''. Do you still recommend this monitor today? Or is there something alot better out there?

I really haven’t found a better one. To this day I still love using it. If you want to shell out some more money the Alienware qd OLED might be worth looking at but this is still a solid option

The color will vary on each individual panel but this is what I use: Game Mode - Gamer 1 Brightness - 100 Contrast - 69 Sharpness - 60 Gamma - Mode 2 Color Temp - Medium

Be careful with the light bar. It will damage the ribbon cables after enough time causing lines on the screen then eventually no picture. May take 3 years.

Well thats unfortunate. i Just bought the 34GN850-B. Pretty much the same monitor. I use a lightbar and didnt even think about it when I bought the monitor. Do webcams do the same too?

@@Adam-eats my lg 34gk950f-b finally died after the ribbon cable broke. I just bought a 34gn850-b as a replacement. My 34gk950f might be salvageable if the ribbon cable can be repaired, but yeah it’s a common issue. New monitor I bought came with a warrantee so it should be solid. But yeah just be careful with putting pressure on the top of the monitor. I removed the weight from my light bar stand, added Velcro and a zip tie instead. Having something resting on the top isn’t as bad as having it push on the screen. Light bars and some webcams can put a lot of mounting pressure directly on the face of the monitor where the ribbons reside. If you can use adhesive mounts and make sure the counterweight isn’t heavy, it will probably be fine. It’s something I’ve been considering as well since my 34gk950f died. Bringing it to a repair shop so hopefully it’s still salvageable despite me now replacing it

@@Adam-eats what I plan on doing, remove bottom half of benq light bar stand where the weight is stored. Add a zip tie to go across the two holes instead. Then use a Velcro strip meant for cable management and loop it around the zip tie, then use Velcro adhesive on the back of the monitor and have the Velcro strip attached to the zip tie stick to it instead. Then it will rest on top without putting any pressure on the front of the screen.

@@Adam-eats actually forget that whole Velcro strap idea. I just bought a gooseneck clamp that can hold the light and be clipped to my monitor arm’s frame, it should be a better way to hold up the monitor light since it would put no pressure on the monitor at all

Too bad you didn't look at the one from Huawei Mateview GT Soundbar I've looked at this model vs the Huawei and the only thing that I can see LG having as a plus is the IPS... But at the double the price...

I really wanted to grab the Alienware oled uw but didn’t want to spend that much more. I think that is probably one of the best ultrawides you can get and having used an LG C1 tv having that screen on my desk would be fantastic. Honestly depends on how much you care about that display. It’ll definitely be there next monitor i buy

Yes it does. It's not actually a GSync monitor, it has the freesync chip which is compatible with amd and nvidia cards

yes, gives it you peripheral vision, something a normal monitor doesn't give you. Ive gotten alot of kills on people i otherwise would not have even known they were next to me. I think black ops 4 was the first time they supported ultrawide monitors for pc

Good review on this particular monitor but definitely need to do more research on the LG 34GP950G-B because that monitor has quite a bit of upgrades compared to this model. It's not just cables and and different logo as you stated here. NVIDIA g sync ultimate, higher HDR 600, higher overall nits, local dimming zones and adjustable RGB in the rear of the panel just to name a few bigger mentions.
