No. The only fluent ones are the twins. Everyone else is only somewhat decent with Shiori being the worst. They said so themselves. Anyone can record a message after reading a few lines here and there or say very basic introductions.

Yeah there is some similarity, but imo Nerissa manages to play it off like a very Ojousama enounciation instead of a simple accent. Calli has also improved a lot though. Her accent now is only a fraction of what it used to be, and she went from broken bits and pieces to being able to hold really good conversations. I think she is the non-JP member who improved the most since debut (admittedly, Kiara Anya and Irys had little room to improve to begin with).

How do I say it, let's take a sample at how she pronounced "ku" part, a more correct one shouldn't have the "k" pronounced thicker. Or I could say most of Japanese pronunciations are thin except for "ga gi gu ge go". Calli did it correct, except when she intentionally do "gaijin play". Most of the time Calli was just playing around pronouncing worse, but when she's talking seriously such as when speaking to JP members or A-chan her pronunciations are legitimately correct.

The thing is that Thai Language is actually so distinctive enough that you can spell Japanese Sound in Thai word and they can say so identical tone of the Japanese Voices. Bijou should have similarities. Because Thai Pronouns can be similar to Japanese at times. Like Sh and Ch. besides Cha (Tea in Japanese) and Cha~ (Tea in Thai) has identical tone. So if Thai people learns Japanese they can speaks quite accurate. More accurate than how Westerners Pronounce the Japanese Language. Like วา-ตะ-ชิ-วา “Wa-Ta-Shi-Wa” Like Takao in English you guys says Ta-Kao. In Thai we said it ทา-คา-โอะ (Ta-Ka-O) which actually more accurate to actual Japanese Ta-Ka-O. Oh and also, Pokemon names in Thai are the same name as Japan. Like Ash in thai is ซโตชิ (Satoshi) So yeah, we can pronounce Japanese quite decently enough.

@@SoraRaida Not just that. The idea of "practice makes perfect" is actually an abbreviation of the actual quote of "perfect practice makes perfect". What I was hoping to learn is what kind of learning materials they used, what tutorials they followed, what habits they built, that sort of thing. How exactly did they practice? I'm using Duolingo but that's not nearly enough, and I realize that. But it's a start. I'm also working on a kanji writing practice tool. I have very little opportunities to practice speaking / verbally communicating however. So, there are greater and lesser ways to practice.

@@FHBStudio As someone who learns Japanese. If you want to be actually fluent (and by the way Nerisa is not fluent, she can read the text but can't freely talk). You spend a LOT of time on different methods of practice. Like literally Japanese N1 takes 2000-5000 hours of learning. and that's not even actual fluency but base for that. so if you are ready to spend 1 hour per day learning japanese it will take you 13 years to rack up 5000 hours. just to give an example. there is a lot of guides on how to start floating around. you start with learning kana (Hiragana/Katacana) both. then you start learning kanji and vocab + grammar. Kanji and vocab are generally learned through anki flashcards or other type of SRS. Wanikani maybe? Jpdb? cast your net and pick your poison. For grammar there are decent courses on KZbin if you look around. Genki textbooks and other stuff. This is your daily grind. When you have enough of the base (6-12+month in of decent effort or more if you not grinding) you start watching anime without subs, watching podcasts and whichever your preferred media in Japanese by consuming the media you will build feeling for the language. but point is prior to that you need to put in effort A LOT OF EFFORT and to not expect to learn it in a few months. it take years. as far as i remember average time of achieving fluency in Japanese is around 4-5 years of dedicated effort. you are wery likely to loose motivation and burn out on the way, but having clear goals and desire is what makes the deal.

@@FHBStudio My advice to you is: Assuming your Duolingo is the version that hasn't had the kanji removed from the lessons, Duolingo can be good for practicing things you already know, but unacceptably inefficient for learning new things. The problem with Duo is that it has slowly veered towards increasing engagement time over actually teaching efficiently. Learning individual kanji through its own dedicated practice is a very inefficient way to learn, and its much easier and more effective to dedicate that time to learning vocabulary, and passively absorbing kanji knowledge through vocab. Flashcard programs like Anki are extremely helpful (dare I say vital) for learning Japanese vocab. In the digital age, learning to write kanji by hand is probably the least important Japanese skill to learn. BUT, if you integrate learning to write your vocab by hand into your regular vocabulary study, it can majorly help with recalling words and kanji you've previously seen. For attaining understanding of Japanese it is usually enough to just pair grammar and vocab study with copious amounts of "input" (any listening, reading, or other forms of digesting your target language). However, if your goals for learning Japanese include being able to speak the language, and not merely consume it, you will eventually need to engage in actual conversational practice, as producing intelligible phrases in a language ("synthesis") is a distinct skill from understanding it. There are conversation (kaiwa) class things you can sign up for, but I wouldn't know where lol. Ask the r/LearnJapanese subreddit.
