Just built my 2022 FUSE SPORT 27.5. Took all Specialized stuff off. Added WR1 carbon wheel set. Sram XX1 Cassette, XO1 derailleur, XO1 crankset w/ Sram Dub BB. Sram code RSC brakes. One Up carbon bar w/Chromag stem and Ergon grips. Specialized Power Expert saddle. One Up dropper and remote. Waiting for my Rockshox Pike Ultimate fork in May. Bike rides and handles like a dream.

@@JustinVelo I bought a new left over 2019 Trek Roscoe 6. VERY entry level but I was sold on the 1x drivetrain Deore. Everything else is poo. I've burned out BB bearings, both Hubs, on my third chain...Still on it 3x week and loving it. Great trails 2 miles from home keeping me off the couch.

Awesome video man! I’m building a 2021 chisel and I have all XT components. I have the same kash money handlebar! I got the 10-45 xt cassette but I had to go with the short cage xtr derailleur! I’m learning so your video has helped me a lot! I saw you greased the hub before putting the cassette on. I was told to avoid doing that but what are your thoughts? Only thing I have left to buy are the fork, seat and rotors. I think ima go with the fox 32 stepcast fork. Oh I got the absolute black oval ring.

With the adjustable dropouts, I wouldn’t be surprised if a 29x3.0 could fit as well. I may experiment with them. This fork is setup with 140mm travel. Bike weighs 30lbs.

It is costly. Feels great though. Marzocchi is now owned by Fox so it’s essentially a cheaper, heavier Fox 36 with less adjustability in the compression/rebound department.

That’s a tough call. If you mostly ride trails where a hardtail is appropriate, it might make sense to save money and get a well-built hardtail. Are you considering an Enduro bike just for Whistler? If so, could you rent an Enduro bike for that weekend?

Surprised to see the 2.8 wide tire fit. How much room was there? Can the chain stays be set to the shortest position with a 2.8 wide 29er tire?

Fit with room to spare. I did move the sliding rear dropouts back slightly to allow for the higher volume.

According to your parts list this build cost around $3500. Why wouldn't you just buy the Fuse Expert 29 instead for $2400? It has SLX components as well.

Aluminum frame. I think all told it came in around $3700 retail.
