When price is no option. What a machine. Also makes me respect aprillia more for putting out the same power from factory from their cp twin
@redo1dr2 жыл бұрын
well, the Aprilias engine is a different concept, more peak power but less torque in lower revs, so yes >100HP out of a 660 twin is a lot, but it´s not like stock Yamaha could not do it, they did not want to in a way
@jaybosher61442 жыл бұрын
@@redo1dr true I know they tuned it in the tuareg for more low end power and still need up having a bit more power but I believe it still requires premium fuel while the cp2 runs regular. Now that you mentioned the fork, Yamaha really should use the R6 ones since they are planning to target people use this for track and replace the R6 with the R7.
@countryjoe3551 Жыл бұрын
I believe the main demographic that Yamaha is trying to appeal to with the R7 is the beginner or returning street rider. In doing that, they know they have to build it to a very conservative price point. I don't think they are worried too much about building an out of the crate track weapon with the R7. Probably the best we can hope for on that front is a R7 SP or something like that.

Seems like this is how Yamaha should have built the motor to begin with, obviously not using some of the higher end rods or pistons necessary for serious race durability. 68 HP from the CP2 is too low stock and should have been at least 80 HP to compete with the CBR650R and RS 660. I'm sure this Yoshimura bike is insane fun on the track and is probably the first R7 (since the original) that I would want to ride or own.
