How would one set something like this up? Is it a pretty simple procedure for someone with a diy background in vehicle maintenance, construction, and farm maintenance? I own an 1150gs and am officially inspired :)

BMW engine with sidecar? You've invented a Ural.

I have had a bike and sidecar for years, this combo' doesn't look correctly set up, when parked with no rider or passengers, bike should be leaning slightly away from the sidecar, when passenger sits in the car and side car suspension compresses weight tilts the bike upright, sidecar wheel should also tow in slightly, this stops a lot of the jerking to the side , causing the weaving you can see. Nice combo' though. Anyone thinking of getting one, main thing is, left side sidecar will try to tip you over when turning left when their is no passenger in the sidecar, until you are used to it put a five gallon drum of water in the car. Another thing to think about, the frame on my bike is slightly twisted from years of being attached to the car, may just be mine, but bike would need frame looking at to use without the car attached, most likely caused by sidecar wheel hitting potholes and such.

I hope bmw will make those motorcycle with sidecar just like those the german army use in ww2 which the russian ural bike copy. It would be a great adventure bike specially if you have your wife with you.

I agree. I once had a Ching Jang sidecar rig. Chinese copy of the Russian copy of the BMW R-71 750cc flathead. Was very utilitarian. Four bolts to remove the car body. 2" round tube frame front and back. I went to the lumberyard and strapped 900 lbs of 2×4s on it. Once I hose-clamped a loading ramp across the frame tubes and transported my R-75/5 across the Monterey Peninsula. Lifting the car up in the air and balancing on 2 wheels gave passengers a real thrill ! Haha

Looks to be a modified Ural/Dnepr sidecar, or a DMC that is a shameless clone of one (and not a very good one at that) if so, oh yeah, that sidecar windscreen will dump rain right in your lap (need to be a little forward like a Ual Retro/M70 to avoid that), see my channel for reference...actually, when you go the way the sidecar is not (In in America, so it is swapped, but same theory), slowing is advisable, but you get more control by accelerating out of the corner, other direction have fun, just don't lift the back wheel...who says that, the guy with 250K miles on sidecar. Enjoy.
