I forgot to mention it in the video that you should use the dual stick control in the settings menu and use mostly just the left thumbstick for the control of the bike, especially when you are turning. Use the right thumbstick only if you need to turn a little bit sharper, such as in Supercross or an inside line. The game wants you to use the left thumbstick for most of the control. Also remember to brake and use the small clutch boost.

@@windham151 I am one of them. I refunded the game after like half an hour. I think even with playing it more I wouldn't really enjoy it. It's just too arcady (not surprising ofc, that's what they're going for and it's not a secret) and not at all what I'm looking for in an mx game. But most importantly: a game that takes time to get used to and doesn't catch the player right from the start is just not well designed. It's the game studios job to make a game enjoyable from the start on or at least make it interesting (to learn) to keep them. Especially with how easy it is to refund games nowadays. People don't like it, they refund it, just how it is atm. The player is not to blame here for not wanting to continue imo. Or more like in general, the player is (almost) never to blame, games are made for entertaining people and it's not their job to find joy in it themselves. Even with MX Bikes: It's pretty hard at the beginning but not too hard to make it seem impossible to learn, so people who are interested in a challenging game will keep playing. Others will find it too hard and put it away. But they just find it too hard but not in a bad way, just not for them. What's the goal with MX vs ATV Legends? Having a game you don't enjoy at all in the beginning just to grind it and have the chance of enjoying it once you have upgrades and stuff? And keep mind it is an arcade game that's only meant to entertain people, far less competitive than e.g. MX Bikes where you're more willing to learn. First (few) hour(s) are probably the most important in a game nowadays. (was different 10 years ago when you went into a store to pick up that new game and then had to stick with it until you had enough money to buy the next one) This comment is kinda not just about MX vs ATV Legends but something that annoys me in general with some games. lol That being said, I don't think the game is totally awful probably not as bad as some might say but I totally get that people don't like it (from the beginning on) and it's completely fair they don't wanna spend more time on it and the devs should've just done a better job then. For my part I enjoy watching it but I definitely won't put anymore time into playing it.

If you go in weird or over pull you can get a few weird bounces, but I have found it makes whoops easier for me and find it easier to stay on the tops of them. One of the biggest parts of what makes a mx vs atv game fun for me is having realistic looking scrub/whip physics. I think a lot of people will agree when they say you cant whip/scrub in legends that its not that you cant get the movement its more so that its so forced and unnatural the it completely removes the desire to attempt to do it. No part of the physics for whipping in legends allows you create smooth, fluent, realistic looking whips and i feel like its one of the biggest things that needs to be fixed in this game. At the end of the day its not a simulator, the average person should be able to do things like whip smoothly and ride corners without sliding out without first having to spend hundreds of hours trying to learn and just get use to it how it is when it could so clearly be improved and made better as we have seen in previous games

Pro Physics gives you full control of the bike. For example, in the air with pro physics disabled, the bike will automatically correct to default position and you can’t leave a whip hanging. Does the slip even effect your speed much? Looks like you need to adapt to it.
@windham1512 жыл бұрын
It's definitely something you need to adapt to. I have a decent amount of hours in the game already and the more I play the more I like it. I've seen some reviews where they only had 30 minutes to an hour in the game. Not everyone is going to like it, that's cool. If you put some time in and don't like it, that's just the way it is sometimes. But I personally don't think 30 minutes is enough time to know everything about the game and have mastered it.
@SeaGLGaming2 жыл бұрын
I hope that they separate the stick controls. Hate having preload/seat bounce separated and tied to steering. With the Automatic transmission bugs too, manual is almost a must especially on straight rhythm. Just too much going on with the sticks. Hope that they separate bike controls from rider controls so you can choose to have dual stick steering with single stick preload like in previous games. If they can fix that and the sliding I think this game will play excellently. I think I liked the tuning better in All Out, but I know it was also tough to learn, and this tuning offers a nice mix. Can easily tune the bikes to your style of riding without having to learn the system.
@windham1512 жыл бұрын
That's something I was thinking about the other day as well. I am fine with the way it is after playing for quite a while, but it almost feels like they tried to do to much with that system. I'm not saying it's complicated, just feels like a lot going on. Sometimes less is more.

I’m a guy that hasn’t played MVA since Alive… I always play milestone games and the SX franchise handles WAY different from this… two questions, do you use manual or automatic shifting? Also, do you use the two stick steering sort of like the MESX franchise? I’ve only played about an hour and I’m seriously struggling.
@windham1512 жыл бұрын
Hey! I do use the manual transmission. Automatic shifting is odd in the game. I also use the dual stick control option. When you use that steering option, make sure to use the left thumbstick most of the time along with braking. The right thumbstick should be used just for tighter turns like in Supercross or really tight ruts outdoors at slower speeds. If you use the right thumbstick to much, especially in turns, you will slide way to much and push over ruts and berms. Also, try using the clutch. There is a small clutch boost in the game. Example, if you are going up a hill and starting to loose speed, try bumping the clutch a couple times to get going faster again.
@air-jordan-722 жыл бұрын
@@windham151 thanks! So with the shifting, what’s the “safe gear” when in doubt? 2, 3? Like, what do you stay in if you are in a pretty average speed section of the track? Sort of like a crutch gear?
@windham1512 жыл бұрын
For most Supercross tracks, second or third works pretty good. Maybe run the corner in second and then shift to third. Probably could do the entire track in just third if you really wanted to. Nationals is tough to say. I go from second all the way to fifth pretty often.

That really depends on what you like in a dirt bike game. At the moment, this game needs some work. Consoles are flooded with more bugs than I am having on PC. Sounds like there are some performance issues as well for some people. The sliding might be something you don't like either. I like this game, even the way it is currently, but I can't give you an opinion on which one to buy since I think Legends is fun but needs work. I also don't want to see any more people be disappointed in this game after buying it than there already is. I still need to do my review. I'm planning it out but will take some time to put together. I am playing on PC mostly. This was PC. I just picked the game up on PS4 last night and played for a few hours. I did run into more bugs there than I have on PC. Performance wasn't near as good and I had one main bug that happened where I lost all sound and when I talked to the NPCs in career, weird audio started playing. They need to make the game consistent across every system. I do wish your experience with the game had been better so far. Don't worry about it. I think almost everyone struggled to clear anything in the first few parts of the career on that totally stock 125. Same happened to me. Once you upgrade or move up to a bigger bike, it gets a lot easier. You are completely right with how the preload and seat bounce work. You can use them together as well for a little more. The seat bounce bar is really weird. Same happens to me where it doesn't show the bar fill up but I still got the seat bounce. Just make sure you flick the left thumbstick down and up before actually leaving the jump.

You should still have the upgraded 250 4-Stroke. Unfortunately that is just how the career works. If you were to the part where the game gives you the 250 2-Stroke, that's the part of the career where you have to use a 250 2-Stroke. The career basically just starts you on a 125 and moves you up to a 450 by using the different size bikes in between. So 125T, 250F, 250T and then 450F. I like the idea behind the story but I get you want to use your upgraded bike you just did, not a completely stock one.
