I just went from Pleasant Hill to Windsor. Charlie made me want to do it again. Fire in the night, flowers in the morning. Wow! My wife said the bed were beyond comfortable. The air conditioner. A blessing. Absolutely, you need the right gear. Not just to ride. But, to be on a journey.

dude, i done the new river trail several times. its way awesome. one of my favorites. talk about surgeries, i had a hernia surgery 2 years ago and it did not go well, so now i have to have another hernia surgery whenever that will be. and there is the old bad worn out shoulder that needs surgery or shoulder replacement. i keep working out on it and taking muscle rubs and creams on it and taking nsaids for it. And i was doing so well on the bike. Now 4 days ago i got covid,and am very sick and at home not doing any biking!!
@TheBane19796 ай бұрын
@@princepage632 thats definitely a run of bad luck. I never had to have surgery for my shoulder, but I use to have issues with it. Come to find out I just had tight lats and after starting to stretch them my issue went away. I hope you get the hernia worked out, It’s hard not being able to enjoy your hobbies. Think I’ll have any issues finding places to hang my hammock?

@@TheBane1979 oh i workout like crazy, and i bike a lot. but this hernia doesn't really bother me, its just gross to look at. iuts like having a golf ball in your crotch area. it sux but i will get another surgery on it at some point. as far as the shoulder goes, not wanting surgery on it at this time. yes it hurts all the time, but recovery from that surgery is a year long. yeah i use to be able to bench press 375lbs. now that i have gotten old i don't do any kind of heavy weight anymore. lots of push ups and pull ups and dips. As far as covid goes trying to stay out of the hospital. Anyhow good luck on your trip

@@joyfultrails yea, I’m hoping I’ll be able to get a lot of critters on video that I normally miss. It’ll stay mounted to my bars, just a push and it’s recording in a second even when it’s off. I noticed there’s not a lot of content on this trail about the campgrounds, so I’m gonna try to make sure I get them as I go too. If/when I do the greenbrier again I’ll be doing the same, documenting the camp spots. I always watch for them and rarely find them on videos

Hey Bane, I just has surgery myself that’s kept me off the bike for the last month and just back riding again. Got that same Gorewear rain gear and I’ve hardly used mine as well. When I have it’s seemed to work great. Nice set-up and have a good trip.

@@TheBane1979 I had part of a finger amputated in a stupid accident at home. I just ordered the Tailfin Aeropack and some 10L mini panniers. I’ve been eyeing them for a long time and since I got camping gear I need more space. Surprisingly I pack pretty light for bikepacking. It seems the more space you have the more you take, although you KZbin creators have some extra equipment.

A balanced load seems to roll easier...
@TheBane19796 ай бұрын
@@pppjourneyonabike5992 I had to lift the bike up over some trees on the e Katy, it was bad. And definitely some issues with the front tire sliding in the stone when turning sharp. The idea of lifting it up over guard rails or fences that unbalanced isn’t good! And these bags also come off and on a lot easier than the Velcro straps on the other one
@cheezy-rider6 ай бұрын
Two questions. I have a problem with my bike wanting to fall over when I'm getting stuff in and out of my bags so 1) Is that an after-market kickstand because it looks sturdier than mine? 2) Are those Arkel bags quick-connect because I like to put my bags in the tent with me?
@TheBane19796 ай бұрын
@@cheezy-rider yep, they connect really easily. And yea, the bike didn’t come with a kickstand, but has a spot to mount a kickstand. It’s after market, and it’s also adjustable. Depending on the load on the bike, sometimes it needs to be longer
