Thank you for the wonderful trip down memory lane. I was born in Kingston and travelled these routes many times. I just got back from a week long cycling tour of Montreal and area. Lots of wonderful bike paths in and around. However I now reside in Toronto for the last 30 years and took my bike there by car. Not sure if I could ever do the full tour like you ladies! Good stuff!

Looks like a great adventure. I am planning the same ride this summer, do you have any tips? How was hwy/road 2 on the bike?

Awesome! It was such a fantastic trip :) Here are a few notes/tips: If you plan on staying at a campground, definitely book a site ahead of time! They will book up. Try to ride from Toronto to Montreal (west to east) if possible, not reverse... we had really strong tailwinds nearly everyday, which was amazing. We passed quite a few people headed in the opposite direction, and they were facing awful headwinds the entire time. I recall Route 2 being quite good. There was definitely a steady flow of cars, but there was usually a really good shoulder. There were a few places without a shoulder, but cars were respectful. Just make sure you have lights and bright colours on. Feel free to check out my routes on Komoot in the description. I planned some nice routes that zig-zagged along the quiter streets of each town/city, rather than going through on the busier roads. We faced a few issues with the bike paths coming out of Toronto.... There were two sections of construction along the waterfront trail that were completely closed, meaning that we had to deviate quite far from our original route. Maybe try to research any trail closures before you depart. Let me know if you have any more questions! All the best with your trip, and have a great time!! :)

@@ssbball328 Thank you so much for taking the time to write back and for the tips, I'll keep them all in mind. If you're looking for another adventure, I did Toronto to Ottawa last year. The Trans Canada Trail was amazing; 85% of the way there were bike trails and almost no other riders. Thanks again for replying and safe ridings!
