Die hard BB fan here. Watched the entire thing! I do prefer the chesty cam view though. It allows us to see the cockpit (my favorite part of the bike) and a bit of a higher view. Plus any accessories that you may have placed on the handlebars ☺.
@DutchBikeBlogger7 жыл бұрын
Me too, the chest cam is also what I am using on my bike rides. Higher point of view, but less stable image due to body movement

That was Hogan trucking on your left. You were a block over from McDonald's on Tucker.

Thanks B.B. There have been times when my son and I will bring our bikes to STL for something different to do on a Saturday. I’m always a bit unsure of areas to ride.

I could hear something rubbing slightly from time to time when it was quiet and it always seems like the handlebars come loose a bit at least on the maiden voyage. Maybe its the little knurls they put in the stem grip area of the handlebar squash down a little bit on the first ride.

When you said ghetto, I was thinking, "a little like the E. St. Louis ride here!" That bike should be a dream at acceleration (which you can really take advantage of on your rides with so many stops) and over small bumps, but it probably feels harsh and squirrely on the bigger ones because of the low volume tires and carbone fibre usually ramps up like a progressive spring. Depends largely on layup also, my Haanjo carbone fibre is stiffer than the aluminum version!
@BikeBlogger7 жыл бұрын
Didn't know you had a carbon fibre bike. I restrained myself for so long but I had to see what all the fuss was about.

i imagine the auto indexing feature on di2 makes the tech a bit more advanced. whether that's worth a 900 USD increase over mechanical is a different story
@noudidnt437 жыл бұрын
You bought a brand new bike, then waited for a year before you rode it!? You have more restraint than I.

I’m amazed of how there doesn’t seem to be that much traffic there. I live in a city of like 300k and traffic seems to be 50 times as bad as there in St. Louis. I know St. Louis has a lot more ppl to. I have to be in constant look out for ppl driving badly everywhere to.
@DutchBikeBlogger7 жыл бұрын
Here in The Netherlands it is crowded, way more bikes on my bikerides overhere.

I'm sure he avoided busy areas at all cost, and plans routes to minimize the likely hood of being in heavy traffic. I plan my routes and if there is a busy road I don't like I plan my route around it.

The short answer to why are mechanical shifters so expensive is they can. But, they are also the best then and for now, I thought there was an Auto Mechanical shifter coming out or it is already? This should help bring down the cost because as soon as the pros slow down use then the public gets a break on cost.

Bikeblogger with shifting just think of it this way. If you start at 90 cadence going up hill and that cadence drops to 70-80 then shift one gear easier or pedal harder, repeat. You should hardly ever use your left shifter or front derailer, only shift into one of those if you run out of gears in the back. Good luck!
@BikeBlogger7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Part of the problem is the gearing. It is a road bike although I'll use it primarily for riding in a city (not a closed course). So I will probably be changing the gearing for something more reasonable to prevent cross chaining as much.
@trexmobile17 жыл бұрын
Well if you do change it out you should Live Stream it. I'll guess a 1x8.

At 20:18 min. that could have gone wrong very fast. You hitting the stroller/baby/woman. Somepeople think they are the only ones around. Andwalking your dog when on a bike, very dangerous and lazy dog owner .................

There is a sport called Bikejoring where the dog is attached to the Bicycles on a leash and then the dog runs right next to the bicycle. It is a very effective way for dogs to get big bursts of energy out faster than they would if they were just taking walks on the leash. It is a very important outlet for dogs that need to run to get their energy out.
