Hiii! Bikejoring is so fun! Rancho is having a fun time clearly. 😍 In Belgium bikejoring is forbidden unfortunately. But we still go joring with Tove. 🤭 She just goes bezerk when the bike with the antenna comes out. 😂 We don't have beautiful trails where we live, like a the one you showed us but we still have loads of fun. Thank you for the beautiful video!! See you next time! ❤️

How interesting that it’s actually forbidden! I’d love to know why! I’m glad to hear you do it anyway though 😀 Tove must really appreciate that!
@TheLookylook2 жыл бұрын
@@ranchothedog I think its because your not allowed to use your dog as a pulling force. (like a horse). There are exceptions for dogs like huskies, but you have to ask permission and go to the vet specifically asking for permission to use your dog as a pulling force.

Love his Belgian energy!! Looks so fun and such a cute ending!! Thanks for the info on bike joring, I've had a few "emergency" stops as well as gear and harness mishaps 😅😭 And using a "bike tow leash" attachment worked great until the large female did a complete 180 while attached to the body of the bike to chase a random deer while we were riding in the rain 💀 Havent been out since so will have to give some of these tips a try. Beautiful Terv, and enjoyed your edits and music selection too!

We often hear the comment 'you're lazy, letting your dogs do all the work!', they often forget, we have to get up extra early to prepare their food, go to quiet places and clean everything after....it is worth it though, seeing how much fun they have!🐶🌸🐺😁
@ranchothedog2 жыл бұрын
Exactly! And the people who think we do it out of laziness just don’t understand what these dogs actually need. Seeing them have so much fun is definitely the best part. And seeing them in a deep sleep afterwards isn’t bad either.

Glad you enjoyed it! We do love our joring trips :) About the gardne, I planted a lot of flowers and bushes along with some trees and also veggies of course. So maybe in a few years, it'll turn into an edible forest, hehe.

Did you teach your dog to check with you from time to time, or is it a breed trait? I noticed he does it so often and it's such a good habit cos then he's constantly aware of you/your location.
@cuchanuКүн бұрын
I think it's a Shepard thing. My German Shepard working sign does that as well. I feel bad for him sometimes because when we go into nature and he's off leash, sometimes he doesn't know who to stay with, so he goes back and forth between my kids and I to make sure everyone is okay (if, for instance, I'm setting up the tent and they are fetching water).

Yeah, well... Tervuerens... you're right when saying "They don't know when they're past their limits", however, I think they know... but don't want to know. Denial, right ? We've had a 3 day long weekend with long walks and Tess was really exhausted, we could tell... however, when we went to the door, she was there. "don;'t go out walking without me". A rare bread, A German Shepherd knows when he's knackered, a Belgian just denies it. I liked the video, even though we don't take Tess for bike rides. It's what you say, whatever the activity: get our dog to obey - always -, get your dog accustomed to human activities like people running, riding a step, skating, biking... then, when you trust them, and they trust you, off-leash is nothing but fun. In Belgium the general rule is: a dog is on a leash at all times... I stress, AT ALL TIMES. Sorry, NO! What this rule means to keep safe, is: a dog must not, may not, is not allowed to, disturb other humans or pets. I totally agree. But a "leash", as meant by the law/local regulations, must not be interpreted as a physical line. I tend to say, my leash is: MY VOICE. I have had many encounters with policemen or city guards, with my dogs off-leash,... for which I could have, rightfully, be fined... but wasn't. Because everyone could see that the dog would not be a problem and was 100% obedient. I rather encounter another obedient dog, off-leash, with a handler who is aware of his surroundings, than an idiot with a dog on an 8 m leash checking his facebook likes while walking his dog and letting it do its thing. I HATE those people who are glued to their phones... Anyway, we're all glad to see Rancho and you enjoying yourselves together !! And we know we think alike about many things :). Keep those posts coming !
@ranchothedog2 жыл бұрын
Hehe, you’re right! It’s probably just denial. 😃 As long as something fun might be happening, they’ll never pass on the opportunity. Glad to hear that in Belgium your police are reasonable and can tell a responsible dog owner from an irresponsible one. The law here is actually to either have your dog on a leash or off the leash with a muzzle on. So when we go to the city, we usually use a leash, but out in the forest people make their own rules. Just once a gamekeeper told us to put our dogs on leashes, but we explained they were obedient. I don’t think he believed us, but he let us go. Good to hear you enjoyed the video! We’ll try and upload more often!

Tip number 4 is a little off... You only get disqualified if your dog gets behind the bike. To train at a high level you should know when and where the line should be stretched or loose.
@ranchothedog2 жыл бұрын
That's what I meant when I said it, I probably should have made it clearer. I know it's not so simple with the line being stretched at all times, but this video is meant for complete beginnners so I didn't want to go into too much detail and make it overly complicated. I watched some of your vids! Great work.
