That is a shame. The dealships where I am have only the 125's or less. They don't have the larger CC machines. I'm a big kid to nothing less than 300 for me. I'd also like to go on longer rides with lots of hills. They'll "order" one for you but it'll be 6 to 8 at best for delievery. Not a good plan. The dealerships are also dealerships for multple brand names so they only have a few of each brand for sale in the store. Bummer.

I've had motorcycles since I was 15. Currently languishing in my garage is a 1992 BMW R100GS, the latest of three of those models I've owned. I bought my son a cherry 2008 Vespa 150 for school. I've been on it more than he has. I live in San Francisco, one mile from work. The BMW was just too much for such a short drive. It never got past 2nd gear. For short commutes on city streets, the Vespa gets my vote. Like driving around on a bar stool...with storage for my daily things. Best of all, for some reason, scooters can park right on the sidewalk with bicycles in my locality. No parking tickets! At least for this particular use, the Vespa is a perfect fit. One glaring omission with several scooters on this list is the total lack of or anemic storage. If you commute, you need a place to put your stuff. On Thursdays I buy donuts for work. Putting them in a backpack? Helmet, extra jackets, rain jacket? The weather here is different from one minute to the next. You have to carry that stuff with you. Anyone serious about commuting needs storage on the vehicle. They are missing out on a large segment of buyers by making these so...masculine...they look like war machines. I expect machine guns to pop out with the push of a button. Just a thought, but where would your wife put her purse if she had one of these battle mech scooters? The styling is a matter of taste and not trying to knock anyone who gets into this angular look, but to my eye, the Vespa has class. All metal frame and body makes it very smooth over SF potholes and rail tracks. The light weight plastic scooters don't get my vote for daily commuting over rough roads. Stay safe out there!

The scooter market in the USA is quite different from in the UK, so unsure what models you'd have available. I would always recommend, but especially following an injury to go and see a bike in person, have a sit and see how it feels.
@rdbjr522 жыл бұрын
Jesse, riding experience and current physical condition are IMO two different issues. I began riding at the age of 42. My very first bike was a Harley Road King. It was a great beginner bike. I loved it. Low on power but big on torque made it quite easy to learning on. It’s a heavy beast, so with your shoulder issues, I’m not sure it’s the best choice. I think most important is buying a bike to match your inseam. Mine is 30 inches, which made the low slung Harley easy to ride. Get something light weight that matches your inseam to saddle Height. Go for it. It’s great fun!

I wonder if the uk will see the 360 kymco, since as far as I am aware they still do the xciting 400i. I'm biased in this regard as I have on of these on a 15 plate and owned since new. Capable of motorway speeds all day long, with fantastic handling and an incredible 42 degree lean angle, this is by far in my humble opinion is one of the best on the market. Price too is still excellent value for money. As I commented in a previous video my eyes are on zontes and their recent release of their 310cc scooter. If this becomes a hit who knows where zontes will go next. Their model range at present is limited but their quality and design are very impressive. The scooter market in the uk has always been a tough sector, even more so with maxi scooters but I hope that will change. With the maxi scooter you do in effect get the best of many pies. Performance, economy, weather protection and good storage capabilities as standard, you get the complete package. Thank you for your videos and bringing some of the latest scooters out there

I can't see the point of an adventure scooter - if you drop it when riding off road then there's no protection for all that expensive bodywork. In your review it would also of been better if you gave the same info on each scooter you reviewed but instead you often left out mpg, range and storage. I didn't even hear a price for your number one choice! I personally find it a little hard to justify many of these scooters as I own an NC750X motorbike - it has good storage, it does 80mpg, has service intervals of 8k miles and costs less than many of these scooters.
