Thanks Tim. Yes I've got normal cycling shorts on underneath the purple shorts I'm wearing. I alternated a couple of different pairs of cycling shorts through the trip

I picked up some gravel style shorts with a separate padded inner layer from Urban Cycling Apparel earlier this summer. I haven't toured in them yet, as the shipment didn't arrive on time for that, but they've held up well for pootling around town.

The outer shorts I wore on this trip are just cheap chino shorts from Next. They were fine with padded cycling shorts underneath. 😀

I love the Restrap bags. They were great on this trip and I had confidence I could stuff them full and treat them a bit rough and didn't have to worry they would break.
