Bikepacking San Francisco to LA - Day 2

Two things, just wanna point out that at 4:20 if you literally make a 90 degree turn you’ll end up in fort ord with 90+ miles of singletrack and fire roads. Highly recommend spending a day checking out Monterey and the trails there. Also a good fueling spot is the noodle bar in Marina, best Vietnamese food in town.

My step mother moved to Monterey. When I visit her, I always spend time at Fort Ord. Well worth a visit.

River Road is a nice ride, part of the Monterey Loop, 100 mi ride. The winds can be reversed in the winter so you guys got lucky. Great stuff.

Did the base of the grade over to 68 down river and back up the mouth of Carmel valley and back to the grade a couple of years ago, absolutely brutal but incredible route.

Thanks. Yea I used a mouth mount and didn’t notice that the angle was not what I wanted till after the trip. I’m posting these every Monday and Friday.

@@LockedinCycling Something I have now done with my Gopro and bite mount is shoot in 4:3 rather 16:9 and that way I can select the exact frame I want when I edit in 16:9. 4:3 records so much more 'height' but it does limit the FPS options from memory.
