Coffee person. I make a super-awesome extra cup of coffee before my ride at home-then put it in a stainless thermal mug. Saves me so much time with my home set up. Easier to clean at home Cheaper(only need my home set up). No extra weight or equipment or mess on my bike. Even if it takes an hour to drive to the starting point, my thermal is hot when I start the ride. I put my thermal in a feed bag(perfect fit). 20 ounces of delicious coffee during my ride. It lasts an hour. If I camp? I just don't mind instant. Ecuador coffee in San Fransisco has high level micro-roast instant for a couple of bucks per serving. It is delicious as well.

Wow great idea I’m repurposing a spice container for the fresh grounds. I love the voyager cookpot as it’s a fantastic bang for the buck. Always appreciate your affordable recommendations.

One of those disposable pans that you cook brownies in can be cut to size to make a light, cheap, and decent wind screen.

Nice! Maybe look into a thin sheet of steel (maybe even aluminum) and bend it into a cylinder (or rectangular if its easier) to protect the flame from going out.

I just fold a sheet of aluminum foil over a few times to make it thicker and prop it with tent pegs. Some tent pegs hold it in place. I don't have a lot of experience using it though.

also. i have that same trek. yours looks lugged so its probably an early early 90s or a late 80s... mine is an 89 950... i think. the seatpost lug and color of TREK is the giveaway. honestly... dont sell it... hold out and put some jones bars or like nitto.. i think the north road bars... or like the rivendell albatross style ones... with a rise to them and an ergonomic angle of grips... so my issue is that i got the velo orange i think french bank or whatever they named it and there wasnt much room for esi grips AND the crap shifter i have on there... idk bro... Im a fellow so-cal person and i know oc can be hilly and i sit down in first gear on those hills while i take the chance to change my album or podcast or something like try to drink and not stop.... or move my squeaky front break pad bc it stops for like 3 min if i just touch it....... rant over.

Cool setup and vid! I’d be interested if you or anyone else had suggestions for a more efficient “kettle” for a more accurate pour? Thanks again!

I'm really glad I never liked coffee... that has saved me TENS OF THOUSANDS of dollars ($71,000 at $2/day or $142,000 at $4/day for 40 years @ 4%). And I hate having to stop while driving or riding for someone who NEEDS their coffee. Starbucks and Dunkin thank you for making them REALLY rich. Plus, our bodies like plain old water MUCH better :-)
