It's also where I met John and Mira for the very first time, / mira_la_perra I love Baja, it's a magical place full of stunning landscapes and friendly people. Here's info on the route bajadivide.com

Around 44:02 the child asks you “y tu avión ? Tu avión de verdad?” Perhaps because most planes live in his imagination, but yours is “real”/material. A beautiful moment of many in this video. A profound one.

This is a masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your short journey. Every time I ride I praise the Lord for giving me eyes to enjoy every little detail in on the road. The smell of plants and trees. The wildlife, the birds singing and communicating with one another. The wind and how it sounds different when you go 40mph+. My dream is for my wife to get the courage to ride with me

Dear Ryan Hello from the UK! I think I found your channel at the right moment, after getting tired of all social media BS, even limiting KZbin (choosing what to watch, with a really hard filter) your channel goes straight to my list! Found your channel 2 days ago, just watched the GDMBR and I can say, thank you in advance, you gave me that extra push to get out and explore! To start, I've planned a short 60-80miles (both ways) trip with 1-night camping, just to get a feel of it. Who knows one day I might try The Great North Trail. Thank you for your content, we need more people like you! BTW I didn't find you on BikeSlice, if you haven't heard of it, this is the first cycling focused social platform, it will be great to have you there! Thank you again, be safe and well! Ole Ole Ole

I know the feeling of euphoria after a bike ride. I used to ride 30 -40 miles on an industrial road in my town- but now it's become dangerous [ too many careless drivers]. I still get that euphoric feeling after 15 miles on a trainer.... a sense of a personal high and a sense of a communal kind of me - ... that's the best I can explain the feeling - I'm sure it'd be more "real -...maybe?" in nature riding. But, maybe not, because I have had ocular migraines after training "hard" on a bike trainer.... and the colors are the most brilliant I've ever seen in my life. Beats anything you've ever seen l-e-d wise or anywhere. Not saying to aim for that though ,,, more so , just that the feeling is authentic in either case.

What an incredible journey, I'm glad I finally had time to sit down and watch it the whole way through! Gruelling, breathtaking, soul destroying but most of all heartwarming to see such cameraderie! What a beautiful gesture to pass your bike on to Fernando, you could see in his eyes how appreciative he was! That ocean at 17 min in was soooo breathtaking! Ryan, you are a very eccentric person. People won’t understand you and they will defy who you are. Take your time in your next relationship. When you love, you love hard! You can’t help it. You have a natural connection with life and the universe. Because you love life and people, you’re very sensitive. Everyone here is rooting for you and Nikki. While I would live for you to find your person, I just pray that you both are in the same place. With Nikki’s personality, it’s easy for anyone to love her. Take your time. We love you and we need you! Blessings ❤️

What an adventure! I have commuted, raced and travelled over 100,000 miles by bicycle but only dreamed of such a long ride. I took a long weekend and did home stuff for a day for my wife and 4 children and then spent 2 days on the roads and trails of Central Arizona. Unsupported rides are way different than supported ones. I've done both and treasure the memories. I enjoyed your video capture of the trail and locations. Spectacular!!!

It's my perspective that the greatest opportunity life offers me, is the experience of adventure. Thank you Ryan for sharing your adventure and reminding me to ask myself, "am I maximizing my opportunities for adventure?" If I don't ask myself the question, would I ever really consider the full extent of the possibilities? My experience has taught me that TRUE adventure is not about the size of the task, but the degree that I'm willing to recognize what creates discomfort in me and to intentionally engage it. It's only when I put myself into unfamiliar situations that I offer myself the opportunity to discover what my discomforts are. This is one of the powerful values I receive from your videos, to see you engaging in something that I would be uncomfortable with and offer that possibility to myself.

You met some interesting people, nice! John and Mira were and have become great riding companions. It was a bittersweet ending. Great of you to donate your ride to that young man. Unless I was asleep, you went north to south on the Baja. In To Shake the Sleeping Self - by Jedidiah Jenkins, he rides the same path on his way to Patagonia. He catches a ferry to the mainland after reaching the tip of Baja. You are certainly an inspiration by documenting and sharing with us. Thank you.

Watched the entire show. Better than anything on tv. I'm glad I found your channel in this huge youtube universe as it is inspiring to a new 56 year old fat bike owner.

Those are American Coots in the San Ignacio Lagoon. I camped in the same spot on my backroads motorcycle tour of the Baja. Cheers and keep on riding!

Man, when you ran across that “El Descanso” place at 32:29, it was very unexpected, cool, and nostalgic to see, being my grandparent’s ranch, I mean, watching their small restaurant being open and functioning again, and being documented, I mean, after it got closed like 5 years ago after 30+ years operating, due to my grandma’s health problems, but, yeah. Thank you so much for that!

I know you put this out a while ago. It’s funny, it took you two weeks, several bouts of gastro upset and days riding on saddle sores - and a flatty - to start talking like I talk to myself on day 0.5 of a ride. That is some stamina! 😊
