Great video guys! You deserve many more subscribers. Would like to try the Colorado Trail sometime but have back issues, so need to be careful unfortunately. Hopefully you will do more videos 👍. Thanks for taking me with you on your journey. Looks like a great time.

Great video!! I've been working on my MTB skills and buying packing stuff and planning next summer to not do the whole trail at once but to start doing some overnighters to work on my bikepacking skills and to do a lot of out and back trips then someday when I can get a few weeks off from work or retire whichever comes first to do the whole trail. Great video quality! and love the drone footage!! It's a great way to see Colorado!! The Colorado which not everybody sees.

Great video! Brought me back. I did it in 14 days early July this year. Can’t wait to go back and do it again! So challenging and so rewarding

how did you choose a section? Have 7 days and hoping to plan a fun segment in the spring.
@colpolka
@colpolka Жыл бұрын
Hi John, we chose to ride all the segments , with exception of the few segments where bikes are prohibited. With only 7 days would be difficult to ride it all unless you are really determined and don’t mind riding at night. If you have only limited time, I’d recommend maybe riding half of it, and then you could complete the other half another time. If you are just out to ride some fun segments with limited camping then I’d recommend Silverton to Durango, very rideable and spectacular scenery. Other notable fun and scenic segments are Kenosha pass, Georgia pass, searle-Kokomo pass and monarch

great vid but either turn the tunes off or down to almost silent. No need for Tunes. Entertainment is the trip.

Hi Rusty! That’s a good idea and I really wish I had done this before taking my bike down! I’ll plan on maybe putting a gear video together in the future to help out prospective bikepackers , as I certainly have some opinions on what worked and what didn’t. In the meantime if you have any gear questions feel free to message me . Cheers!

You would be severely under-biked if you tried this trail with a gravel bike (not that it couldn't be done, but it would be infinitely harder). Full-suspension mtb or hardtail mtb with front suspension is the way to go.

Another bikepacker said that you have to hike a bike for a hundred miles on the CO trail. Do you think that's accurate? Is 20% of the trail hike a bike?
@colpolka
@colpolka Күн бұрын
There is certainly a fair amount of hike a bike , 20% sounds like maybe a bit much , perhaps closer to 10%, and mostly climbs since the descents are rideable. If you travel light, and run a small chain ring 30 or less you may be able to clear more than we were able to. Overall a great experience, and highly recommended if you have the time to complete the trail

@@colpolka that's about what my estimate was. I have done the whole trail, but I've done some sections. Thanks!
