2 Dads on bikes with a 4 day window tackle the off-road 350 mile trail along the Great Allegheny Passage and the C&O towpath. an incredible journey that came off better than expected, except for maybe losing a wallet, a shoe, and a few other items. Also a crashed helicopter.#cyclist #bikepacking #bike #adventure #gap #travel #trail #gravel #gravelbike #florida

It was the best time. I was not sure how the drone would do on the trip. It held up pretty well stuffed into a bag

Did you guys skip Bills Biker Bar in Little Orléans ? No better feeling than walking into a bar packed with Harley Riders while wearing Lycra bicycle clothes.

What a nice ride!!!!Enjoyed your wonderful video very much as we’re planning ours. Did you guys organize the trip yourself? Who did you use to transport your luggage? Any info you have is very helpful for us. Thank you!

The guide book was a huge resource. I flew my bike from Florida with Bike Flights and took Amtrak home after I got to DC. Worked out great. Let me know if you have any more questions. It was a great trip. gaptrail.org/before-you-go/trailguide/

I've had this one on the radar for a few years now. I wanna do it in four days, my riding partner wants to do five or six. Either way it's a win. See you at King's Road in a few weeks! :D

Four days was perfect. I really like how we put it together. We had plenty of time to explore too. Let me know if you need any planning questions. I would suggest not losing your wallet and tie down your shoes

@@FloridaBikeAdventures Nah, already lost my wallet on Karlos's "Boomerang Ride" a few months ago (it was returned the next day!). Pretty sure we're gonna Amtrak to Pittsburgh, bike to DC, and Amtrak back to Jax. Can't wait.

Could you please post the route files you used? I'd love to make this trip and it looks like you have the secret sauce! It looks like you wore a hydration pack and had some bike bags. Any advice on what was worth packing (since it looks like you stayed in lodging) and what was not? What tires did you roll with and did you set them up tubeless? Any advice and route files would be most appreciated. Thanks!

You can download my Strava file or I can email you my actual file. We had to route around the tunnel so my Strava file is def off. I did do bags and hydration pack. I can give you more detail. Shoot me an email at Gpsurgical@gmail.com

How realistic is it for intermediate riders to be able to make it from Pittsburgh to Dc in 4 days? Or would you say probably plan for 5 days?
@FloridaBikeAdventures
@FloridaBikeAdventures 6 ай бұрын
Depends on the kind of bike and your fitness. Our days were not long but we traveled pretty light. We had one long day around 100 but we included a trip the battlefield day 3 that added 15 miles. Not carrying camping gear allowed for much less weight. I think an intermediate rider can do it with the right planning. We were done by 2 or 3 pm most days
