Hi Richard. Stu here. The creator of the North York Moors 300 (and the Yorkshire Dales 300). Really glad you enjoyed your trip along the route. The weather was kind to you and you got to see the amazing views the Moors offers. Loved the video. I giggled as you talked about the trail. It's testing bits and what may lay ahead for you. As I've ridden the route a few times, I knew what awaited you. I hope the video inspires riders to have a crack at bike packing or just come ride on the Moors. It has a lot to offer. Awesome work Richard, I hope to meet you one day. Take care.

Thanks Stu. Yeah the Yorkshire Dales 300, I did that last year, partially at least on my gravel bike. Hoping to do it again this Summer and finish it this time. As for the NYM 300, I've not ridden that way much either on or off-road so it was great to see another part of the country. There was a good mix of surfaces, some annoying, some breathtaking, some flowy and everything in between. I've done a few year tough routes over the years and have to come expect everything from hike-a-bike, getting lost and pissed off to great flowy sections, technical bits and everything in between - if it was too easy everyone would do it etc. Personally I always approach these with the goal of not only finishing, but smiling and having fun along the way and appreciating nature. Great work on the route - will likely do it again!

Hats off to you sir. What a great footage! That must have added a bit of stress to an already ambitious planning. But it's really appreciated. Great to get an impression of the North Yorkshire Moors like this. In The Netherlands we may have a lot of cycling infrastructure, but we can only dream of the expansive gravel routes you have in Britain.

Yeah it was beautiful, I shall return again soon - as you say - these places need apprecitation and for me its a reasonable driving distance. Thanks for watching!

what do you do to mount you camera, where can we find this route
@BikepackingAdventures5 ай бұрын
Hi, camera, it's the Pro Standard Grill Mount - you stick it in your mouth! Both hands on handlebar when your descending. As for the route, good question, here's a direct link: ( ridewithgps.com/routes/43347703 )

That looks like a cracking route, I may have to try it on a gravel bike.

You should! Definitely revisit sooner rather than later - plenty of stuff doable on a gravel bike - but plenty also for mtb. Need to get out there and map it properly - it was super fun.

What mudguard do u use? Thank u for sharing ur lovely trip ❤

Hi there, its from RRP, the ProGuard Max. I do have a rear mudguard as well, but tyres too wide to fit, really good, keep the dirt and crap away from the bike.
