I'm 53 and THIS screams Wayne Rainey nostalgia to me. All the latest technology, even cruise control on a sports bike! I'd love to see the reaction of parking it up at your local coffee shop and sit outside and watch people gawp over it feeling the exact same feelings. We need to see other manufacturers make the same bikes in their own Team colours from the 80's and 90's. The only thing I'd say is that you absolutely need that belly pan fairing but also the sports exhaust, even though it's just for aesthetics than sound. Although I'm very in to hear if anyone has removed the baffles and they hear a big difference
@BikerTorque10 күн бұрын
Don’t get us wrong, it sounds fantastic as it is, but would be keen to hear if anyone has managed to remove the baffles. It certainly did get looks and comments when parked up wherever we took it, and yes definitely screams 80s Moto GP. Thanks for watching

Love the 80’s styling of this bike. The front light gives me Honda NSR 250 vibes. This bike gives all the 80’s feels (in looks) without the 80’s sports bike headaches (trying to source parts). I thought a thumbs down (which is also an issue with 80’s sports bikes) would be the lack of ability to fit and luggage to it. Even if you carried a backpack, you would be worried about scratching that rear fairing. But if you wanted a fun retro looking bike with all the modern gear, it would be hard to go past this.
@BikerTorque13 күн бұрын
Yeah, you’re spot on with the NSR vibes.

It's a great modern interpretation of the classic 80's styling, but I wish they'd gone with straight red & white like the RD500. Or borrow some styling from the 90's with the teal from the TZR250. Or, if they must go with yellow, put it on a white background, like they used to in the 80's, so it looks less obtrusive. And it's not like it's too hard for Yamaha. They've already released a Japan only fairing set in the RD500 colourway along with another in a FZ750 colour theme.
@BikerTorque13 күн бұрын
An RD500 clone would certainly look the goods

I know it's an homage to the GP Marlboro colorway but the Ironman/MacDonald vibes actually makes me prefer the blacked out version which is a foreign feeling for me because I'm not a fan of black motorcycles. It is a bummer that it's not coming to the States (yet) simply because I'd love to see one pull up at bike nights. If we do get a version, I really hope it's in that gorgeous XSR900 blue colorway and I hope it comes with fairing mirrors instead of bar ends. As much as I prefer bar ends, fairing mirrors look better to me on sport bikes.
@BikerTorque13 күн бұрын
Fairing mirrors do look good, but love the style of the bar ends on this
@iansmith23713 күн бұрын
@@BikerTorque it is kinda cool that they went with a modern approach for the mirrors, fun contrast to the majority retro styling of the GP for sure. They're more fitting on the naked version to me personally.
