This ride encapsulates the beauty of the Faroe Islands in a single journey. Along the way, you will encounter a charming seaside village, the highest mountains, stunning sea stacks, a picturesque strait, a hidden valley, and a secluded village all packed into one unforgettable experience. The ride starts in the charming seaside town of Gjógv and ends in the secluded village of Saksun. Both are regarded as some of the most beautiful villages in the Faroe Islands. You begin the ride by climbing up the highest mountains, which offer stunning views of the mountain and the ocean. Reaching the road's highest point rewards you with an exhilarating descent, featuring a stunning vista of Lake Eiði and the vast Atlantic Ocean stretching towards the horizon. Along the way, you'll also see the iconic Risin & Kellingin, the legendary Faroese sea stacks nicknamed the Giant and the Witch. The descent leads you to a scenic route following the Sundini strait. Following the strait, you turn right and venture inland into a picturesque valley, riding alongside a beautiful river. Your adventure concludes in front of the idyllic lagoon in the enchanting village of Saksun.

In this ride-along video, you ride at the speed of a pro rider. If you want to ride at your own speed, please look below for how you can make that possible with our indoor cycling app Open Road.
Take your indoor cycling to the next level with our indoor cycling app Open Road:
Dive into an immersive indoor cycling experience with our training app ’Open Road’ for Windows. The app transforms your effort into speed and lets you ride the ride as if it were a real outdoor ride. With the app, you get a better and more realistic indoor cycling experience compared to our ride-along videos on KZbin. The app is compatible with all ANT+ cycling devices, including smart trainers, power meters, and speed sensors. Athletes with spinning and exercise bikes without ANT+ compatibility can control the speed manually and enjoy riding with all the important cycling data such as altitude, distance, speed, heart rate, etc. displayed during the training session.

Just add music:
Most cyclists would agree that the ride to Col du Tourmalet is outstanding. But with music, opinions are very mixed. So we have added no music. Instead, we recommend adding your favorite music to the ride. It is quite simple. Mute KZbin and open a browser window. Find a site that offers music (Spotify, KZbin, etc.) pick the music you like, and enjoy the ride... We have left the original sound of the ride out. This is because the noise from passing cars, vibrations from the road, wind, and the rider's breathing drowns the natural sound of the surroundings.

Thank you for posting. You make my morning workouts much better. That you put one up from the Faroes is such a pleasant surprise. I was watching your one from Iceland, thinking how it reminded me of the Faroes.

As someone who is half Faroese and lived there when I was younger it always continues to astound me that people consider it to be a tourist destination now. The years spent living there were cold dark and generally unpleasant. I could count on one hand the amount of days the temperature was above 70 F. Never above 80F. Mostly rainy dark, and cold, although in the summer it really never gets dark. Still is cold though... Barren landscape. One time a storm blew my Dad's Landrover over a guardrail down an embankment....Faroese food is pretty bad as well, unless you love boiled fish and potatoes. Maybe some pilot whale breaks the monotony, although I refused to eat that. The kids there eat dried leg of lamb like candy. It smells terrible. Bring warm clothes if you visit.

I love how you demand things from this random person who is nice enough to post videos on the net for you to enjoy for free. Such entitlement🙄

Wow. Why would you verbally attack a personal video of my children, one of whom who has passed away?
