I have a 2010 underseat exhaust model. It goes like a bat out of hell. It's like being on a 125 with a 675 engine in it. It's going to get me banned one day. On the plus side it's not uncomfortable. You don't have your head pinned back trying to look out of your visor. I took a Tankbag and tail pack and went to Ypres Belgium on it in 32c heat. Never missed a beat. I did 2000 miles in 3 months...

I always tell people to pick up a used 300 and just abuse it and still sell it for how much you bought it. So technically no money lost. In NJ all 300s are around 2-3k. 600cc are 4.5-6k then liter bikes are 6k and above in Craigslist. Depends too on mods and miles. I say get a 300 and practice for 6 months to a year. Then sell it and use that cash for a down payment. Then get whatever you want. In my case I went R3 then a 2017 Daytona 675R. The R3 was my older brothers bike. It’s a dream bike. So much torque, power everywhere and light as the R3. People say that same. But after you practice with the 300 get anything you want. You just need experience first.

This was the video I saw, which made me buy a 675R. I've had it a month from this writing. It's my first bike and it's been great. I'm 6'1" 220lbs (fit) and love it.

This bike is (THEE) Super-sport Mid-weight benchmark and is in a class by itself. IMO. The Chassis is unrivaled and the engine is the best of both worlds Vtwin and I4. The MVAF3 came up short. It is middle weight perfection and the Brits should be damn proud of this bike. Almost makes me wish I was British :P

I've the 2010 model. Been to France and Belgium this year on it. Tailpack and Tankbag. 600 odd miles in 4 days with temperatures up in the 30's. Never missed a beat or fail to start. 4 Italian bikes I rode with all boiled over. 675 is a great bike. 👍

great review, I'm just in love with mine. I defiantly made the right choice. I've seen a few videos where the complained about the seat and I ride mine everyday for at least an hour. longest trip to date was 4 hours straight and seat isn't bad at all. my only complaint is they should have made the service reminder (wrench) easy to turn off if you service it your self. the dealer has to turn it off for you. but that's my only complaint so far. really awesome bike, if your thinking of getting one, get it.

Peterbu18 Laws and theories are not the same thing. Laws are just a "this is what happens" statement. Theories are "why this happens". One does not supersede the other. The law of gravity versus the theory of relativity for example. The first is just a blanket "things gravitate towards other objects" whereas the second gives the mechanism for why that happens.
@PeterDB90
@PeterDB90 9 жыл бұрын
***** Either my school and college taught me the wrong thing or I did not understand what they taught me. A "theory" as a scientific term is very different from the colloquial use of the word - it's a degree of concept. Difficult to find the words, but it's basically a degree of how true a concept is and how often the concept is true. It starts with a hypothesis, which is nothing more than a guess that can be tested. After it has been rigorously tested and found to always (to our knowledge) be true, then it becomes a theory. The next step is "law" and a law is something that CANNOT be disproven. So yes, evolution is a theory, not a law, because while it has not been disproven, it is still possible to disprove it.
@Candesce
@Candesce 9 жыл бұрын
Peterbu18 A law is not the next step of a theory. Theories are the backbones of science as we know it. The theory of relativity is the foundation of physics, and the theory of evolution is equally the foundation of biology. Theories explain how and why. And yes, theories are ideas that have been so deeply tested by so many people that they have become de facto truths, until someone comes up with an even better and even more irrefutable theory at least. Theories are, in essence, explanations that makes so much sense that nobody can disagree with them, or at least that nobody else can explain any better. (I say that because even current theories such as the theory of relativity have a couple flaws but nobody's been able to come up with a better explanation yet). A law is just an observation. The law of gravity for example is a blanket statement that things are attracted to other objects, which yes, cannot be disproven, because it's just the way it is, but a law in and of itself provides no explanation for the mechanism of action, it's literally just a statement of fact.

Given the choice between this 675R and a Suzuki GSXR-750... what would you go for? I am torn.
@aoiokaminari5284
@aoiokaminari5284 10 жыл бұрын
I have a gsxr750 and speed triple(which no, not a daytona 675, but still a 3 cylinder engine from triumph). I have to say the triple engine is a lot more fun in town thanks to the better(more torquey) low end. The gsxr also has a long 1st gear and doesn't shine until you get the rpm up. If you're going to be racing or on the track a fair bit the gsxr750 is a lot more satisfying to run constantly at speed, but for cruising/commuting the 675r will be way more fun. Better erogonomics too. Just my 2 cents.

Aoi Okaminari aw man! What you said is exactly what I was afraid of! I heard the noise from the 675R and loved it the other day, but really like the looks of the GSXR. Graham Smith if it helps any, I much prefer the looks of the 675R to the GSXR750. I have a DRZ400 motard and like Suzuki's so I'm not bias against them. The only problem with looks for me anyway is the single center headlight on the GSXR, I much prefer a sleeker 2 headlight design. If not for that I'd be really torn between both of these bikes, but at the moment I'm saving for a 675R, if a fuel injected motard doesn't tempt me first, the DRZ is great but I'd just love another gear and FI.

Never really rode motorbikes. Odd go on the mates field bikes, 125's 250's ect. More of a DH mountain biker. Thought fuck it I want a motorbike. Fell in love with the Daytona, booked a crash course. Passed within a month (UK) bought a 2015 standard (with quick shift) MY FUCKING GOD!! What a ride! I see a lot of people asking if this is too much bike for a first bike, I say definitely No. It's small, lightweight and fast as fuck (for someone who's only just passed that is, Mr 1299) You'd be selling yourself sort if you went any lower. Although good road sense is a !!!MUST!!! And don't expect anyone to see you. You can get to 100mph quicker than you can stop from 100mph!!! My mate bought an 08 zx10r the same day I bought my Daytona. He can't shake me on the bends I'm up his jaxy, and he's been riding years. The only time he really gaps me is when I start bouncing off the limiter, at about 160mph while he continues to 186. Even he's amazed at the Daytonas acceleration. Him and my other mate on his 600gsxr, on long rides are constantly stretching their legs. I haven't needed to at all, but that mite be just me.... I absolutely love it! The stupidly expensive mountain bike is collecting dust in my kitchen with a flat rear tyre lol.

TBH - I think the being proud to be British comments are a bit far - the Street Triple and older 675 already did that in spades. OK, Triumph appear to have turned it up a notch, but hey, they've hardly jumped out of the toilet and come up with this. On that note - a question - I take it the standard model is basically the same revamp without the quick-shifter and Ohlins? Am I right?

We in the UK are driving on the correct side of the road, that is if we need to draw a sword at any moment. You lot are only driving on the right because of the French revolution, and not wanting to appear aristocracy, for fear of being guillotined.

Had to pause this video at 6:12 to prove my point! Hear that whistling sound every time the bike is being revved? I can't stand that, and in my opinion, it takes from its perfection and I'm giving it a 9 instead lol!! But no bike is perfect out there, not even the MV Agusta! Wait a second...

This review waxes lyrical too much. You should be more objective with your reviews instead of telling us "this bike is the best bike in the world" at every given opportunity. You just end up sounding like an advertisement. And a very fast talking one at that

" We pretty much invented the theory of evolution." Congratulations, take some microbiology classes. Compare the notes to Biology 2 or 3. Makes less sense then religion..... And that's saying something.

From your post I am guessing you haven't taken any Microbiology classes. like Gravity is a fact and there are theories to explain it, Evolution is also a fact with a theory to explain it. We see it happening, that is change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. It is also a theory. Evidence currently points to the idea first proposed by Darwin of Natural Selection, that is inherited characteristics render an organism more or less fit to survive in a given environment. With the discovery of DNA in the 1960s what is called the 'Modern Synthesis' was developed. This is now the basis of much of Biological Research. But as with all science it could be shown to be in error with the next piece of new evidence. So, a Rabbit fossil found in the Devonian or Jurassic Strata would disprove the current theory, or at least, seriously modify it. Just as a ball suddenly continuing to rise would cause consternation among physicists that study Gravity. Evolution is as near 'Proved' as any scientific theory will ever be.
