I was a 15 yr. old teenager when I purchased a 1974 CL450 Honda Scrambler. I didn't even have a drivers license , a motorcycle license or motorcycle learners permit yet. I found the bike at a place called Ron's Cycle in North Smithfield , RI with my grandfather. Ron's allowed me to put the bike on layaway and pay so much every week until the bike was paid off , then I took it home. I rode that scrambler through the woods , down old railroad beds , in gravel pits etc. until I finally got my learners permit and could legally ride it on the street , then I rode it everywhere! I've owned a lot of other motorcycles since then ( Dual Sports - choppers - Cruisers - Big Bore Adventure bikes - Goldwings etc. ) but none of them compare to the fun I had on that CL450 scrambler when I was a teen. Since then I've always had a special place in my heart for scramblers. I absolutely love the new Triumph 900 Scrambler , it reminds me of the good ole days. I'm not physically able to ride anymore , but if I was I'd be siting on a Triumph Street Scrambler for sure! JT

Simply put, I bloody love these bikes. I have the 17 model, as you say, it has this ability to make you feel great and put a natural smile on your face. Along with a few basic custom extras, it's an absolute keeper. Could I justify getting rid of mine to replace with the 19 model, I'm not convinced due to the financial loss, but I'd be interested in taking a Scrambler 1200 for a spin!!

Essentially did that with my 1982 Tiger Trail - changed the rear sprocket, fitted breadbox tank, set of up swept pipes and got rid of high front mudguard. Single Amal carb, 1 tickle, 1 kick bang 1st every time. Bike had loads of character, super reliable and never had to thrash it to enjoy it. Like the new one and simple, basic instrument set up.

Last May I bought a left over 2017 here in Connecticut USA .5000 k so far on her . Glad to hear they have made some improvements on my very very wonderful "Back Road Roadster.. I ride this bike on dirt & gravel and our bumpy bumpy back farm lanes ..It is beautiful here and this is a perfect bike for the horsey gentleman farmer estate land .. I love mine . The sound is warm and English and goes well with the quieter local sports cars .. It fits fine with the Morgan club of America ... .. Light enough for playing around and steady enough for longer rides .. I wish it had a larger tank and glad the new ones have better breaks upfront and more spring action in the forks .. Well if you have ridden horses you know how to post when you see a bump coming at any rate .. :)

the looks killed it for me woth the 1200 xe bike, street scrambler kills in that department, xe is just too tall, i hate the swingarm design on it. Just doesnt have the same classic bike feel to it. But i am sure it rides much better off road and 1200 cc is something i would definitly preffer. But since i will do most riding in the streets, its not a huge benefit to me.

12427$ new, straight from a dealership. 9317$, used 2017, only 800km on it. Is it worth it? I mean, both are the same - one has better brakes, is "new" and better power. The other one is "tuned down" so to speak, and "used". Dunno if it's worth to put extra 3k $ into it just for the bling.

I know i could have bought the old one and upgrade it, but why bother? Btw, i highly recommend buyin V&H full exhaust. Got it for 3 days now, and damn it makes you happier when you ride it. I know it's hard to comprehend, but trust me - it makes you smile even wider when u open the throttle :) Gonna invest more money into it (new air filter+power commander+ECU maping) after the lease is done. I have a 2022 and the rear brake is mediocre at best. I don't like the front fork feel either. Tires might be OK if it really was a real Scrambler, but on the street they leave a lot to be desired. It is a great looking bike but it could stand some more refinement.
