Just discovered your channal and loving the content especially the bikepacking element which i love doing. Last summer I toured the alps and used the Timmelsjock for austria-italy, nice and interesting pass

I just found your channel. I like it very much because you give detailed information about each day's route, including the problems. Your video is very clear and makes that area look enticing. I just wondered when you made this trip. The date posted is March 31 last year but that is late winter and it looks more like summer.

Hi Garry, thank you very much! It makes me happy that you find the video useful 😊 I did the tour in September 2021. It took me a while to sort the clips 😅

I can recommend using the road option in Komoot and then adjust it accordingly. I found that bike tour option can disappoint a bit especially on ultra long hauls like yours.

Thank you a lot for the hint. I will give it a try.

The bike touring option on Komoot seems to assume that you have more of a gravel/MTB bike than what most of us think of as a touring bike. I use the road bike option and then go back over the route using the touring option, satellite map and street view to find cycling paths and lanes that are more suitable for my touring bike and modify my route to take them instead.

I agree. For some sections of the bike touring route, one would have needed a MTB. By now, I plan my routes like you described. Starting with road cycling, and then adjust it 😉
