I think the unsung hero of this movie is... Steve Vai. Does all the 'air guitar' licks or so I have been told, and does the intro to the final song (which blends into KISS's "God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II"; oddly enough people have had to mix the solo and the song together, they never released it in that state).

And like Mr Movies, this is my favorite of the bunch for sure also. I'm older than Mr Movies so the first movie I was certainly old enough to remember seeing in the theater etc. and I love the first movie but this one is all nostalgia and I loved the comedy way more. One of the most underrated scenes in the entire movie imo is Ted possessing his father - the actor who plays his father did an amazing job of doing Ted as an old cop dude. It was so fun. And yes, playing games with Death, top tier stuff. Best 3 out of 5?! STATION!

That video for "Epic" by Faith No More was in heavy rotation on MTV for a while in 1990. Kicking the new "futuristic" decade off, it was one of the songs that felt on the cutting edge with its rap-rock sound. By the time this sequel came out, the Bill and Ted cartoon was on Saturday mornings and they had the Bill and Ted's Excellent Cereal. Probably the most popular songs by Primus, one of the bands in the Battle of the Bands, were "Winona's Big Brown Beaver" and "My Name is Mud."

I'm told Wayne's World on SNL did then 'not' thing first. It was certainly used a number of times in the Wayne's World Movie, but that was after this. It's always fun to see an actor playing another actor's character. It happens a fair amount in fantasy and sci-fi, not so much in other genres. Does it really matter that the ring is cheap if the emotion and meaning behind it is genuine?

Little Tidbits: The movie is a parody of The Seventh Seal, a classic movie. Bill's granny is played by Alex Winter. The song at the end, God Gave Rock And Roll To You pt 2 by KISS, was only available on the soundtrack for decades. - I think this is the first time anyone ever recognized the actor playing the main villain from THE MIGHTY DUCKS, and not as the "Diplomatic Immunity!" guy from LETHAL WEAPON 2 🤔 - While I'm not crazy about this movie's plot, I do appreciate how bold they were in not just doing the same stuff from the first one. That being said, I think I would've been down with revisiting more historical figures. THAT being said, the scenes with the Reaper were EXCELLENT! 😆 ---- "Why is he still calling her 'MOM'?!" ... Because you divorce spouses... but NOT children. 😇 - While the WAYNE'S WORLD sketches on SNL were using "NOT!"... a LOT... technically the WW movie came out a year AFTER this one, so I think you're right cowboy man!

I definitely agree my favorite is the first one, but I don't dislike the 2nd one either, Death is such a random and awesome character to throw in the mix, but he fits right in after he loses and loosens up a bit. I also agree with Mrs. Movies it felt like a missed opportunity to meet at least some of the characters from the first movie in Heaven, it would have made total sense, but at the same time, they probably only had that one shot and probably wanted to show new characters to keep it fresh. which at the time made sense but watching it now.

Love this one. Excellent Adventure coasts on nostalgia a bit more in people's minds I think. For me I don't enjoy watching it as much as I do this one. Once things they get the phone booth it's kind of pick up historical figure, say name wrong, they act weird, rinse, repeat. That's reductive but it does drag a little during what should be the most interesting parts when they go through time. I'm far more interested in what's going on back at home for most of the movie. While I don't think most people hold Bogus Journey in a special place like the original I think it's superior. They didn't just do the same thing over again. This thing has so much creativity and on it's fairly limited budget it knows how to stretch that money. Each new location is visually interesting. The performances are stronger this time. Basically I love everything about this movie. The sequence where they face their own personal hell is short but unforgettable. I could point out things I love in every scene but I'll leave it there.

It makes me endlessly happy that you recognized Hans from Mighty Ducks as well. Side bar, is it called Champions in America? I used to watch it as a kid and always thought of it as Mighty Ducks then when I tried to look for it I could only find the sequels. For some reason the first one is called "Champions" and when I'd go to find it at the video store the idiots at the desk who should know these things would tell me they couldn't find it. I think one day I was just scouring the shelves and stumbled upon it. That was the beauty of video stores. You walked around and something would catch your eye and you'd discover something you may never have found. Doesn't work the same with streaming.
