His nephews were in my Boy Scout troop. One do them became a roadie for Alice Cooper, he used to have one of Cooper’s old guillotines in his backyard.

@@RocknRollAllNight it is. The Guillotine sat behind a fence but you could see 4-5 feet of it sticking about the fence. Their backyard faced the entrance to our neighborhood so every time we drove in or out we’d see it. It was cool pointing it out to friends visiting. The roadie died young, don’t know why. Their father, Aucoin’s brother in law was a Navy fighter pilot in Vietnam. Just a street over lived the famous navy Vietnam POW Jeremiah Denton.

Aucoin stopped managing Kiss in 82. How does he know about anything that happened within the band subsequent to that year?

I think it was because Paul and Gene stayed in contact with him for awhile after they fired him, since it was business and not personal. They didn't have a personal falling out with him until sometime in the late 80's when they discovered that he had apparently been selling their old costumes and equipment to fans and collectors.

@Mr.Brenman21 I'm not sure. In Paul's version of the story, Bill wasn't responsible for the warehouse but he still had a key and they never thought to ask him to return it or to change the locks because they still trusted him.

@@Supertron1 read the book KISS and Sell written by a top record executive who knew the band and the behind the scenes stuff. Aucoin was stealing from the kiss warehouse around 1987 which is also when Paul was at his most dejected, broke and on the verge of throwing in the towel. But then two miraculous things happened which were able to ferry the band into the revenge era. Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits became an unexpected best seller and went platinum; and Hot in the Shade produced a hit single, Forever. These two things generated enough cash flow that the bad was able to stick it out for a few more years. But revenge came out, and while a chart topping album that was loved by critics, it didn’t go platinum. KISS was broke again until Polygram records issued them an ultimatum: “Get the original guys back in makeup or we’re dropping you.”

It sounds like Bill is saying he worked so Peter could keep the rights to his makeup. I would think as the manager of the band his fiduciary responsibility should have been to the band and work to retain those rights to the organization.
