Top tip, If you start on a keyed instrument, it's much easier to work out the others. They all share the same 12 notes after all, a piano just lays them out in the most logical order that makes every other instrument make sense!

If the man wanted to be a rock star, he'd be one. He is ridiculously talented with music. I always find it rather astonishing he went into comedy with those chops.

He found a niche of being a comedic rockstar or rocking comedian, depending on the show. He's done shows with full orchestra's, and stand-up backed by jokes set to music. This man is a legend on so many levels. The haircut is a strong statement though. Next level mullet.

Why is there a boundary between music and comedy? Both are creative pursuits. Many musicians employ comedy (Victor Borge, for instance) and many comedians employ music (Steve Martin, for example).

@@xmarine73 Yes, for sure. As some education inspector with a very forced, posh British accent, who has a meltdown over how Bill is teaching. To the point he reverts to his American accent. At which point he looks shocked, excuses himself and bolts out of the classroom. With Bill just saying "that was odd". I'd watch that movie, over and over.

I went to see Bill Bailey in Oxford years back. The show finished but the entire audience was having such a good time and Bill was too, so he just mucked around with instruments, told stories, just hung out with everyone basically for another couple of hours having fun. Absolutely fantastic man.

Saw Bailey at Latitude a few years back and he made the festival for me tbh - he finished up with a similar tune on a mandolin I think, just magic.

I remember the first time I saw Bill Bailey, he was perfoming at a Royal variety show and he performed heavy metal versions of children's nursery rhymes, it was absolutely hilarious!
