@@rikaiturner2713 u don’t get it. Tony Dungy played corner in Pittsburgh for a few years during the 70’s steel curtain days. They used Lambert and Ham in coverage a lot and it evolved in Tampa because Brooks was even more athletic than those 70’s linebackers but the concept and system comes from those 70’s Steelers teams. Slanted alignments, stunting the defensive tackle, focusing on getting home with 4 and using linebackers in coverage more, zone blitzing, all those concepts either started or were evolved elsewhere from here.

Those 2000 Steelers squad if they never ran into Tom Brady/Bilechick they would’ve been a dynasty. That 2004 defense during Big Ben’s rookie year would’ve won it all had they not ran into Brady/Bilechick in the AFC title game. Correct me if i am wrong but seeing that Polamalu highlight, i believe he never picked off Brady in his career.

I'm a Steelers fan and even tho Belichick beat my team almost every time over almost 2 decades whenever we came up against him, he has my respect. The fact the Steelers could probably have 2 or 3 more Super Bowls if it weren't for the Belichick/Brady Patriots is still painful tho.

@@Gexed Ben was a good QB, but he was never the kind of QB that you can build a high flying offense and win a Super Bowl with. Ben was actually an elite game managers that could make some amazing plays when needed. That's how they won in 2005 and 2008. In the 2010s they gave Ben the keys and built an expensive offense while neglecting the defense. Zero rings. Glad the Steelers are getting back to the old formula that they won every one of their super Bowls with.
@willr4880Ай бұрын
@@natoslayer2907 I'm going to have to disagree. Defense no longer wins championships. The league has changed. The rules have changed to favor the offense. Its a passing league now. You have to be able to score points to compete to win a super bowl. That's why the steelers are in the position thier in now. Amazing Defense, no offense, no playoff wins. You need a good Defense, and score 30 points a game.

98 baby here, the way ocho held and still holds coach belicheck as high as he does (even in hilarious jest) just further proves how much most of my generation and the ones after me lost so much respect for who we seen as our mentors/coaches. It’s to the point where my everyday “yes ma’am, no sir” gets me so far in the eyes of the older generation, even when I just look at it as something that should be taken for granted because it’s that normal to me.

Belichick with the local press was always more personable. When the NFL and national press people came in that's when Bill turned off the charm and went monotone. Being accused of cheating for a bogus charge will do that to you. I think everyone else is getting to see that Bill is actually very fun, incredibly smart, a virtual encyclopedia of football history and sees things and can explain them in incredible ways.

Bill Belichick's Patriots destroyed Mike Tomlin's Steelers almost every time they played. That just goes to show you what a knowledgeable, teacher, and disciplined coach/team can do against an emotionally charged yet unprepared coach/team. No contest. And I don't want to hear about the QB's, they both had HOF QB's. Bill Belichick taught Mike Tomlin a coaching clinic almost every game, but Mike Tomlin never learned anything from it.
