Jets fan here - I do not understand why people didn’t think Bill B was hilarious at the press conferences. I think he accepted he’s not Parcells (I hate all the Parcells references!) so he went in the complete opposite direction. Ask good questions and show you put in effort. Bill would speak glowingly about opposition which was nice to hear.

The fans understood what he was doing, well most of us, it was the local and national media that hated him because he wouldn't do their job for them by giving them sound bits and giving them detailed analysis of what they were planning. On the other hand like you said if a reporter asked a good thoughtful smart question he would talk forever on the subject and was also actually very funny if you paid attention.
