The Italians are serious about these things I am half Sicilian so I guess I'd meet the more than 1/16 criteria but yes we are very vocal about things pertaining to our heritage like I would not say I am Italian I would say I am half Sicilian
@davidswanson56692 жыл бұрын
And I’m sure you don’t sweat it if people mistake you for Italian, because I’d be happy to be corrected and then ask you more about what the differences are. Generalizing and stereotyping are usually done just because most people have a limited depth of knowledge about so many things.

The bit at the end of being italian and jewish... pretty sure there were jews in ancient rome so one can be both. The whole I'm jewish thing is both a religion as well as an ethnicity. I think even being jewish ethnicity there were separate tribes so you could be Ashkenazi , Hasidic, Sephardic, Mizrahi or orthodox.. The whole things gets confusing.

If you don't want people to say the N word don't put it in your music. I listen mostly to rap, sing the songs I like, N word included (you cannot listen to Mo3 or Boosie & escape that word 😂) But never use such terms out of context. I don't worry about it fr.

It worked so well for the black community the Trans community is giving it a shot. It might keep people from saying shit. But it's gonna cause some resentment. Segregating yourself probably won't bring the equality were trying to get.

Young People: Whatever you do, do not do what the gentleman did when he told off the woman. If you think you are all in the right, forget it. Here is what I would have said: "Some of your comments are offiensive to 'me/us'. Could we please have a nice professional and respectful work environment?' There.... with that comment there is only a 10% I would get in trouble with HR in your average American corporate environment. My Rule of Thumb rule #1: what is the one thing Managers do not want to do? Manage anything. They will take the easy way out and just rid themselves of whatever/whomever is generating issues.

I personally say "mister/mista" if I am singing along to a rap song that uses the forbidden word. Even when alone in my car. IDK. It's just... not something I want to say? Like... it does nothing for me, and I can just say something else that works the same way in the cipher.

Let me ask you this. Lets say you have a leak in your house. OK. You call the plumber up. He shows up, and he goes, "Yeah, the leaks coming from the upstairs bathroom. We need to shut it off bah bah buh bah" Then all of a sudden his wife walks in, who isn't a plumber. And then goes, "Yeah, I think it actually coming from the outside." Would you be like, "With all due respect, shut the fuck up. I need a plumber in this moment." I need a Comedian in this moment, not a comedian's wife.

It’s foolish to really argue over race and ethnicity seriously I mean look at how we do things in America if you have one drop of minority blood in you you’re considered a minority it makes no sense because if you have one drop of Caucasian blood in you you aren’t considered Caucasian necessarily. Now for someone to argue I am Italian but this person isn’t that’s foolish what if she just takes after her Middle Eastern heritage more what if she’s 20% Italian isn’t she allowed to claim that.

You know what else is cultural appropriation beginning of hip-hop everybody was talking about La costra Nostra they would name themselves with Italian names talkin about Sicilian men who were members of a club allegedly but that never gets talked about hip-hop appropriated Sicilian culture for its financial gain and that's cool but when others apparently do it to hip-hop that is a violation technically y'all started the cultural appropriation all you have to do is go back and look at it some of the rapper's name like Capone Gotti and many others not to mention their lyrics were made up of I Sicilian group of men in New York City and things they may have done or may not have why the double standard and to be clear even though I'm only half Sicilian I never had a problem with it don't know anybody who did they were mesmerised and attracted to and wanted to be like them paying homage to they weren't disrespectful but did appropriate the culture so why when somebody else does it to Hip Hop now they're a culture vulture when to be honest a lot of hip-hop was based on being a culture vulture but seems like you forget about that and they have appropriated other cultures nobody says anything but when it happens to you holyshit this no-good disrespectful so-and-so trying to be a culture vulture you set the precedent you laid the blueprint can't be mad at what you started sorry about the punctuation and grammar having to use voice activated text are prohibitively difficult so I sincerely apologize
