Nah, Shane Black has a habit of catching lightning in a bottle and then blowing absolute shit in his next movie. The Nice Guys is one of his "lucky" movies. A follow up would be nothing short of disappointing. The whole reason that movie is good is because the slow-burn frenemies turned buddies.

Shane Black. That's the reason the movie is amazing. He's made (mostly) top tier movies. They did rope him into making a Marvel film, and that sucks - but sucks less than other Marvel films. If you liked this.... PLEASE check out Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Very similar vibe to this film. Sleazy, funny, unconventional.
@stephengrigg598810 ай бұрын
@@DPMusicStudioI thought iron man 3 was solid. Has the trademark Shane Black fight scenes that are actually engaging to watch and have intelligence. I honestly don't know what the hell happened with the predator movie he made. That seemed like it should have been a slam dunk for him and I don't think the studio interference fully excuses how terrible it was.

The way this movie was marketed did not match the absurdist tone. It’s a real gem of a film, passing for a goofy period comedy, but it’s one of the most bonkers movies from a narrative standpoint. I love the fact that the kid literally said the truth, but it sounded so absurd we as the audience dismissed it as a throwaway joke. Both Crowe and Gosling are hilarious and they pulled it off really well. I believe this is going to be one of these cult films which finds its audience through word of mouth, similarly to The Big Lebowski (which wasn’t a hit upon release).

This is literally one of my top 10 films of all time. It’s so hilarious and rewatchable and even has heartfelt moments despite being mainly comedic. I thought for sure this movie would be a fucking franchise, the ending perfectly set up at least one sequel so it's disappointing how people just seemed to forget this movie exists. Shane Black directed the shit outta this movie and had some serious talent in front and behind the camera as well. The little girl was also outstanding, she had some hilarious lines! I really liked one moment where her and Gosling were standing outside of their house where a tree had fallen through their window, and after she mentions something about hating that tree Gosling responds with, "Never trusted it," and the girl laughs. It looks like that was improvised and Gosling actually made her laugh just by the way she was looking at him, but they kept it in the movie and it fucking owns! This movie is yet another reason why The Predator being so awful shocked the hell outta most fans of Shane Black movies, because the guy has a serious talent for making banger flicks. Or at least I think he does, because off the top of my head I can think of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and this as being top tier cinema. Glad you uploaded this, good to know there are plenty of people who do appreciate this fantastic flick.

@@urosmarjanovic663 You're confusing the differences between leaving a film open to a sequel if need be and planning for one. Which is what "supposed to" implies. According to Shane Black, a sequel was never planned. He said that if the movie makes enough money (it didn't), that he would think about maybe doing one. He put the scene at the end just in case the film ended up being a successful enough to get a sequel. But no, it was never "supposed to" get a sequel. Something tells me you don't know alot about screenwriting.
