Its a horrible shock, too. For at least 2 generations of children, he was literally a part of our lives. He represented the very best of what it means to be American, & esp a Black American... This is a classic!! I remember when this came out in 1983 ~ I was a senior in high school. This was airing many times on HBO...He sounds just like my parents did then! When he talks about his parents being grandparents ~ he's describing my parents now!!! Back in 83, we had my mom listen to this ~ so many phrases that he uses in this skit, we hears SO many times!! AND ~ now that I'm a parent, I've used the same ones!! ha ha!!

Cosby is going on a tour and will be in my area in November. My mom has had all the Cosby Show DVDs so I grew up loving that show and rewatching them over and over again and laughing everytime I watched it. My mom's 40th and Mother's Day is next month, so I am going to buy us tickets to go see him. Very excited and hope she is surprised!

Cosby has been through some shit and has done a lot of bad things but he was a comedic genius and I still watch this show to this day. Part of it is because it is incredibly funny and the other part is because this is what exposed me to stand up comedy.
